Just curious, when are they going to replace placeholders for various feats, abilities, classes, etc. with real icons? Show some willingness to finish what you started? I mean, a single vector artist can probably do it in a week.

Considering the huge amount of fixing and content they brought I find this to be rather... petty.

Oh, you're right. They are doing God's work, providing post-release support for their product. I suppose we should all shut up and kiss their feet for... blessing us with bugfixes. What's petty is your forgiving attitude which got us here in the first place.

Care to elaborate which skills and spells are not doing what they are supposed to do?

Here you go:
Current list of Mechanics that aren't working/bugged

The first part of your response is complete hyperbolic bullshit. You know why the bugs where there in the first place and it was not Owlcats fault that their publisher forced them to release the game months too early. They could have easily opted to do just the bare minimum and only fix crucial stuff, yet they tried to fix as much as possible, worked on two DLCs and two small free DLCs. Would it be nice if they would add some more distinct symbols for spells and abilities? Sure. Is it vital? Not even close.

As to that list, it is 8 months old. I doubt it is very accurate at this point anymore, so in total your bullshit post got a well deserved retardred rating.

Absolute bullshit, the project should be planned around hard deadlines not "if we run out of funding let's hope our publisher just lets us keep going". If they didn't have enough time then they should have cut other features and released them at a later point instead of releasing a game that was unable to be finished at release.

It's been a fucking year and the chargen still looks like the game is in beta, that kind of sucks knowing that players spend a fuckton of time there. Owlcat Games has, what, 50-60 employees? And they can't muster a single person to do it? We are talking basic knowledge of vector software here, not optimization of 3D meshes in a high-particle reactive environment. I'm sure the fucking janitor could piece something together from existing icons if they gave him a computer and one week.

Another patch, another dung heap of new bugs. This time, custom portraits are broken. They added faster movement when clicking far away, but they neglected to speed up the animations of my animal companion- making my Smilodon look like it's ice skating.

Always a step ahead of you...
Okay guys, I was patiently waiting for them to finish last DLC and bring us the enhanced edition. I bought the game and the Season Pass almost on day 1 and just waited to get everything patched so I have the best experience available. I downloaded some ccustom portrait packs, theory crafted builds... Now I finally fire up the game to get into it and have fun with it and it completely goes unresponsive at chargen when I would like to pick custom portrait.... WHAT. THE. FUCK...

What I don't get is how this bug got into the game without anyone noticing

Yeah, they actually do work on their current big game, unlike a certain other so called "AAA" company where they wait for players to fix it via mods. Isn't that right Toddy boy?

todd howard releases games that you can beat without waiting a year for patching. amateur mistake

Fallout 76 anyone?
You know the game where someone manged to record over 3 hours of game footage with about 1000 bugs and glitches?
Bethesda games have easily as many if not more bugs at release and they hardly fix anything, because "mods will fix it" attitude by the retarded fans. But yeah being able to finish crapshoot games is such a great argument for a company several times the size of Owlcat, both in terms of personnel and financially, while having one of the most brain dead fanbases where to this day people are actually saying they enjoyed fucking Fallout 76 and are still buying Bethshit's merchandise despite much of it being complete ripoffs.
Oh and since you are a retard, Pathfinder has been fully playable for like 6 months now, but nice try dumbfuck.

I've been having a blast, playing 1-1.5 hrs a day. Just reaching The old Sycamore.

The game's tone is a bit more fairy-tale than I'm used to (I've been mostly playing AoD, Underrail, Deadfire and Battle Brothers for the last six months), but its elements are coherent - writing, voice, graphics, so it doesn't feel annoying. It actually makes me play the game in a more role-playing than minmaxing manner, which is what I think was the intended way to play.

I hate the companions, though. They aren't written well.

I liked some of them, I thought most of them are pretty well written, the best ones are IMO the tiefling sisters, Jaethal, Nok-Nok and maybe Harrim. Linzi and Jubilost were pretty decent too, Regongar can pretty bro. Valerie is a bit boring, and Thotctavia and Tristian were annoying.

Hopefully Kingmaker finds a dedicated modding community after the patching is finally done. Imagine Kingmaker with equal plenitude and quality of mods that we have for Infinite Engine games.
All I want for Christmas is improved AI mods!

I asked one of the devs about the tone of the game in their discord server, said that it was conscious choice as they wanted to make more light hearted game instead of supa serious gritty grimdark, I really liked the tone in PF:K, as I've grown so tired of games either being super serious gritty grimdark or very self-conscious and "meta"-game.

I was very impressed with the way they managed to pull it off, there is a layer of seriousness in the game, but it still feels like an adventure, I hope they keep it up with the next game, presumably set in Pathfinder setting too.

The companions feel pretty archetypal to me so far. What caught my attentiion a couple of times has been the way in which progressing a quest urges you forward to progress it a bit more. This is a great improvement over the PoE games.

In PoE/Deadfire the structure has been such that you get to a hub, visit all the quest givers, end up with a laundry list of quests and you go out the hub to complete them. You become desentizied towards the quest story. Kingmaker (same as Baldur's Gate) is structured in a better way.

I would have thought this may be ture only in the beginning of Kingmaker, because introductory chapters are usually more constrained, same as Deadfire's starter island is more constrained. But the hub/laundry list problem was present even in Deadfire's starting island, while it never was in Baldur's Gate, before you reach the city.

What I want to know is how the mercenary party members being able to work as advisors works. The standard advisors have personalities, they do things a certain way, they can leave if you don't handle things the way they like, etc. How does that work for a merc??

Not going to install EE until they have some time for more bug squashing. My game is working pretty well right now. Also curious if Eldritch arcana mod is compatible with the EE
I'm in the same boat. I'm blocking the update by running Steam offline till the worst bugs are squished and EA mod updated.
