Well, from what I've seen about Ironman runs at higher difficulties, people rarely go by "just play the game and pray for luck".
For example, many often do 2 almost identical runs, but one for training porpoise without iron man and second one proper. So at every notable battle, they use first save to devise 0-risk strategy and only then do it on "clean" save.

Nerfed Oleg's outpost. My first Unfair attempt at original one took around hundred reloads alone on non-Ironman run.

...but after it you could always hire an army of Fey Sorcerers with Smilodons, spell specialized on Magic Missiles to show your monk how things are done on Unfair

Never! I will show you all! When I get that steam achievement you will all learn that monks are NOT a bad class! I have suffered hundreds of hours on unfair. Just so I can beat it with a monk. I will conquer Unfair Iron Man just as how I conquered Unfair.

Smilodon, ever since I started this insane forsaken journey to conquer unfair iron man. I have lost many MANY hours of sleep. I can't even go to sleep without thinking of Pathfinder and Unfair Iron Man. I! Will! Surpass! Oleg's! Outpost! Even it fucking kills me!

Steam fags called me a mad man when I started this journey. But those guys are jerks. They don't understand a mans desire to conqueror the impossible. My dopamine receptors are so fried. Nothing can excite me anymore except dying over and over again on unfair iron man. To achieve the impossible. That's what I will do. Sanity and well being be damned. I lost count at the amount of lives I lost at around 110 characters. Truly.

I don't even understand what I am typing anymore! I haven't slept in a day or so! Pathfinder awaits me! See ya!

I hate to dampen your enthusiasm Pink, but some problems could not be reliably solved by punching them in the face.
As far as my math knowledge and P:K experience go, best way to go through Unfair prologue is abusing your companion's immortality while removing your MC from any risk. This means:
1) Double Shot from Crossbow/Magic Missle from Linzi + Tartuccio
2) Run away from enemy'a aggro radius (at their starting position)
3) Wait until their clobber to death your companions and return to the position
4) Combat ends, Linzi + Tartuccio raise with low HP ready to shoot again
Rinse and repeat until you meet Jaethal. After it, you could use one sacrificial companion to drag enemies to Kaessi and she will to all work, including prologue last battle.

You severely underestimate me smilodon. I am no mere mortal. I am the master of the f8 fu. I have the power of quick load. I shit you not, it once took me over 100 reloads to get through an encounter on unfair. No mere mortal can suffer through such a thing. But not I. Alright never mind. After going back and creating a new character. It seems that the best offense is a good defense. In other words I just need to pick more defensive feats.

That's always been true of Ironman runs in any game. They are feats of attrition. Avoiding mistakes is more important than efficiency. Good luck with your masochism, but you may want to start your own thread or blog. Your rate of posting has overtaken this thread.

Well, 28 / 2 = 14 , because Unfair doubles the receiving damage. Then, 14 / 2 = 7, because crit. And 7 is in range for 1d8 or 1d10 weapon. A 2-handed great axe, I believe, can do that. Speaking of probabilities: the assassin rolled 20, then confirmed the crit (the latter is almost automatic with Unfair stats), and then he had to roll either in 2 out of 8 (7 for 1d8) or 4 out of 10 (7 for 1d10). In general - it is much more probable than winning jackpot.
Which means that any Unfair / Last Azlanti strategy should actively prevent dying from inevitable crits, as Trashos mentioned before. I have no idea what this strategy might be, but I guess spawning more bodies on the battlefield could help.

Right, in ironman you must make *sure* you do not die. Pets/Summons aside, I think Daidre nailed it: abusing the unkillable companions is the way to go:

A similar strategy can be used for particularly tough fights later too. (Jaethal/Linzi/is Tristian unkillable until his quest ends, btw?)

Reading that thread makes my brain hurt. All the e-peen "you suck at the game" "no you suck at the game" non-argument is tiresome. It reminds me of Soul Caliber forums where posters have entire imaginary battles by listing combo attacks that are "unbeatable" or whatever.
