Quit trying to simplify their games(...)Go play Pillars of Eternity or something

No I'm not trying to simplify the game. I just believe that we would have more reactivity that way, but I'm glad that OwlCat don't care about balance bullshit like PoE does. As I've said many times, the best games are those who don't care about balance, just like the best countries are those who don't care about equality.

Damm evil Aru looks super random whats wrong with her favored enemy i guess she just hates manlets lol
  • Fixed some cases where companions, after leaving the party temporarily, would return without some or all of their equipment;
May be they will fix her sudden respec, too. On the other hand - she is a normal demon now, so maybe it's OK for her to change.

You now have a spellbook, like a Wizard, and can copy spells into it from scrolls as if you were a wizard of your character level.

UMD greater Mythic Trick seems like it has some potential. I wonder if it can be merged. Could be cool with an oracle. This game is pure build porn. I look forward to it being done.

If anyone in this thread actually found DA:O an enjoyable experience, having played the game as clueless children not withstanding, they can enjoy WOTR. DA:O is a fundamentally broken game and effortlessly so. All the invincible OP builds in WOTR at least require some sort of progress or system knowledge. All you have to do in DA:O is pick a mage and invest some points in mana clash and then go either arcane warrior or blood mage. That's it. That's ignoring all the garbage encounters in the game that are all tank and spank.

WOTR has some a lot of garbage design decisions but nothing even remotely comes close to how fundamentally broken and dysfunctional DA:O is.

I wish i'd have experience that vavakia vanguard bugged fear aura thing, I feel excluded now :(

So, I read on this unfair guide thing that demon get faster mythic progression. Anybody knows how much faster and when ? Aspect of coloxus is so fucking amazing (casting as move action MNMMNNNhgg, 3 casts per round) but it's mythic fucking 7 i.e end of act 4 in the case of my azata which means end game. And being stuck through all of act 3 and 4 with basic aspects on their first form (1DC and - 1 to enemy saves) sounds like big sad.

The demon mythic path only diverges from the others at the start of act 5. At the start of act 5 demon goes directly to mythic 10.

Mehh, I guess that strikes demon out for my next run. I'll probably play that path later with a trip build or smth.

I've also heard that the Demon has a unique option to kill all the Saveable NPC's during Act V's big speech. Dunno what it requires, but it's something I want to suss out on a future Demon run.

Is there any merchants selling new gear in Act 5? Looking to spend my 3million gold, Drezen is still selling old shit. Or is it going the way of Kingmaker where you could upgrade everything and the merchants still sold old shit. It's frustrating tbh.

Done with Azata sorcerer run on Hard. Ended Sorcerer 18/Alchemist 2(taken at lvl 19-20 for cognatogen)

Rest restritcions and management layer were worse than kingmaker. The thing I loved about kingdom management in kingmaker is how it was tied to the rest restrictions and how it was always better to be fast and efficient dealing with problems to keep the kingdom going well. Plus the looming threat of the game over, however far fetched, was always a good motivator to keep pushing on thin resources. In wrath they replaced that with corruption, and corruption is both a bit too generous (if you have a good lore:religion guy) and more annoying. It's basically another PoE style supply system. When coruption get too high, high tail it back to drezen rest there and come back. Not many dungeons lock you in, so you are rarely forced to stay and even then the game generously gives ways on cleansing corruption through hand placed interractables in dungeons.

Yeah. I get what they were trying to do, but it didn't work. It was too easy to teleport when necessary and just annoying to have to manage the rest otherwise. Best part of KM was the beginning, knowing you're on the clock and being able to plan your rests accordingly.

I mean, I try and avoid resting anyway just for RP. "The party camped for 2 days in the big bad's living room because there were a few hard fights" is dumb. But I guess people have D&D-ed/PF-ed so long that kind of thing is just normal. Whatever.

But yeah developing your kingdom in KM helped you lighten the rest restrictions, it was progression somewhat. I wish owlcat tried to go from there instead of basically making so that there is no restrictions unless you self imposes them on yourself. Especially big open acts like act 3 were in dire need of soft time limits like the ones kingmaker had. Act4 you just need to get back to base camp to rest. I don't like leaving gameplay related stuff left to RP decisions personally. It's not so much rest restrictions, but rather rest consequences that need to be furthered. That way you still leave more rest intensive classes/playstyle work but they have to deal with the consequences of that. Kingmaker tried to do exactly that and it's a shame they didn't try to improve on it. And instead went along the raging steam comment about how time limits suck. Vancian magic is a stellar magic system, but it well never be in its final form in cRPGs until some studio decides to implement rest well. Kingmaker was a great start of solution and Wrath just threw it all away. And it doesn't only hurt resting, it hurts the management layer as well. Because it becomes a pointless minigame completely unrelated to the RPG game. Just like boat combat or the fortress building in PoE.

Hello, this is my first post. This game triggered my autism in ways I didn't know possible and I've done 12 playthroughs (through every mythic path and multiple legend/azata playthroughs.) These are my thoughts on each path.

Angel is good simply by virtue of actually fitting the rest of the game. Leading a crusade of Iomadae worshippers as a lich or demon is pretty weird but angel totally works. Great if you want to rip and tear since you fuck over demons in ways the other paths can't and Baphomet becomes an actual bossfight. Builds itself since you can either spam metamagic bolt/storm of justice or use 4x geniekind. Ended up using this path to solo unfair since it spikes early.

Azata doesn't fit the game at all, it's like a My Little Pony episode. Sucks for melee but zippy magic is awesome especially with chain lightning, also cool how your party will be completely immortal.

Trickster isn't funny so it just ends up being xD epicandom. It's incredibly strong though and can break the game with one shot crit builds pretty easily, seen lots of 3k+ vital strike builds and you can't miss since you get trick fate. Also it's nice that you can make your party more powerful with all the feat unlock tricks. Hard to tank up though since there's no way to increase your ac, doesn't really matter when last stand exists thankfully.

Aeon is pretty awesome especially on a second playthrough since you can change some pretty large events. Also has a unique final boss in a unique area, and entirely unique ending slides (and the best ending slides, by far.) Struggles with action economy cuz all of it's abilities are swift actions. I went with a 13 attacks per round sohei build to get 13 dispels with aeon bane but it takes a long time for this path to spike.

Demon is good if you play a reluctant character who switches into legend later on. Otherwise all immersion is completely ruined when you hit act 5, at least it makes act 4 more enjoyable. Gameplay wise you might as well be playing the game with no mythic path since you can only rage for 2-4 encounters per day.

Lich has the same act 5 immersion ruining issue as Demon but at least you feel powerful instead of being a cuck for most of the game, feels good to stick it to people that wronged you previously (and to make them your undead slaves.) Is probably the most fun to make builds with since it has an insane spell list and makes magic missile broken.

Legend makes the most sense story wise considering the events of the game (rivalled only by secret ending.) If you min max hard it's the most powerful path since you can easily get to 120 ac and solo everything, or you can get 74 dc on spells and run around spamming weird, or just do both.

Gold dragon is clearly written by an intern, stretch goals are always shit. Build wise it's like legend if you had 20 less levels than legend, boosting lowest stats is worthless since WOTR killed mad builds and converting all damage to radiance means you can't use elemental barrage which is the best mythic ability in the game.

Swarm has some interesting ideas in it's 15 minutes of content. Makes the game basically impossible on core+ since you lose all companions and you're weaker solo than you would be playing demon or aeon. Also forces you to grind like it's an old school jrpg.

Devil is pretty strong if you switch into it from Azata, pathetically weak if you switch into it from Aeon. Story wise it's stronger than the other gd and swarm since there's an actual decent lead into it, also makes way more sense as a crusade commander than the other evil paths. Would be good if it had 1 more quest in act 5 tbh.

Have they fixed the Vavakian Vanguard fear? My fully buffed party other than my main(with the Areskahgal + 20saving throws mask) still getting feared. Would be cool to kill him before the patch. He fears his own Balrog and Assassin inside as well so I assume it's still bugged?
