Fuck, I had a pipe leak in my flat, and just at the same time, the fridge started leaking. After I sort this shitstorm out (wich should be soon), you'll be bleased to know that I have 4 missions worth of screenies to sift through, so you're in for a treat.

Order the pipe and the fridge to stop leaking for Fuhrer and Vaterland!

That was one shitty week. Actually managed to fix the fridge myself, got the piping leak seems under control, but I'm nonetheless keeping an eye on it just to be sure.

Good time for update, yes?

It is March 1943. Springtime. As you recall, last Winter we managed to capture Stalingrad.
A glorious victory it was, and the Fuhrer did shower us with medals.
Now, the city being nothing but a pile of rubble of questionable strategic importance, we ponder what to do next...
LP001Begin1.jpg

LP001Begin2.jpg

Unfortunately, we overextended ourselves in our valiant strike and the rest of the glorious Blitzkrieg has fallen behind.
The orders now are to evacuate the city.

Tough cookie. Moving 12 units is a lot. And we also need to keep Stalingrad in our hands for the entire operation.
The Fuhrer in his infinite wisdom, has left us reinforements: auxillary Grenadieren and a StuG.

Speaking of the StuG, we'll be doing some adjustments to our force.
LP001Begin3.jpg

Fuhrer has purchased the StuG armor DLC

Vaarne is anxious to check it out.
LP001Begin4.jpg

Our auxilliary troops are also fitted with the prototype.

I will use this as an opportunity to test some old-new shit.
LP001Begin5.jpg

This light artillery piece is visibly inferior stat-wise, to the haubitzen we're currently using. Mobility is lower, so is the range.
We'll see if the increased numbers (strength 15) and the 5 attack orders make up for it.
LP001Begin6.jpg

We'll also test the lighter PSW on Gondolin. It's got a bit higher strength, similar defence stats, and lower attack values than the 231 we've been using.
Doesn't seem to make much difference. Defence is the same, and recon units aren't well known for good offensive stats.

So we begin...
LP001Begin7.jpg

We are to relocate to the south-western corner of the map. Not too far away, but I predict heavy resistance along the way.
We most likely won't take many secondary objectives, apart from the two that lie directly on our way.
Stalingrad is to be held, which will be PITA, as we only have 4 ground units (at best) to spare to defend it.
We hold the airfiled to the north west, which is critical for maintaining luftwaffe support. We will concentrate our defenses there, and, if able, launch a counteroffensive to the north.

Guderian.jpg

Soldaten, we may be leaving Staliing grad, but this does not mean the Communists can retake it just like that.

Guderian.jpg

Carius, Serrated und Anus will remain on post and assisted by the auxiliary units will obliterate anything that gets near our positions.

Guderian.jpg

Fallshirmjaeger stand by. You will remain at the ready, assisting the defending force for as long as its feasible. Then, you will paradrop as close to the objective as possible.

Azira.jpg

That auxilliary fucktard is blocking the airfiled. How can I be ready to paradrop then?

Azira.jpg

Well move that Arsch, willya?

Guderian.jpg

The rest of the troops will then move southwards to the exit zone.

Guderian.jpg

There are two secondary objectives on the way. Time of of the essence Soldaten, so we will take them only if time permits.

As always, intel comes fiirst.

vonUlm.jpg

Kommand, Luftwaffe ready to report situation to the south.
vonUlm.jpg

Northern secondary objective is lightly defended.
vonUlm.jpg

On the eastern flank we see an artillery piece, it is probably assisted by camouflaged units. Recon or infantry.
LP001Scouting1.jpg

LP001Scouting2.jpg

vonUlm.jpg

On the western flank we see an enemy column ready to assault our positions

Guderian.jpg

Gut. Fighters, keep the skies clear for the main Kampfgruppe.
Guderian.jpg

We need to cripple that assault first.

Gondolin.jpg

We have conducted a recon sweep to the south, Kommand.
Guderian.jpg

Continue, Offiizer.
Gondolin.jpg

Heavy and light tanks spotted along the road to the objective. Possibly infantry hiding in the rubble.
LP001Scouting3.jpg

NewBee.jpg

I've scouted a bit further down. I see Kapitalisten panzer. Churchill and a M3A1

LP001Scouting4.jpg

Having all the intel we need, we march forwards. Artillery is deployed and we wait for their move.
LP001Scouting5.jpg

Whilst inspecting our auxiliary troops, we find that the aryan standards for officer recruitment have declined.
LP001Scouting6.jpg

Times is tough indeed. Anyhoo, Offizer Wyrmlord shall bravely guard the ruins of stalingrad against stray recon tanks.

HooDoo.jpg

It doesn't feel right leaving like that. I mean, we paid with blood for every inch of that Scheisshole.

HooDoo.jpg

We could have sown some salt at least... and some napalm bombs, a few mines mebbie?

eklektyk.jpg

Enough of all this Angst und Schwanzlust. Let's do some damage to the Schweine!
JoKA.jpg

Stukas in position.
JoKA.jpg

Let 'er rip!
LP001Scouting7.jpg

LP001Scouting8.jpg

eklektyk.jpg

That's what I am talking about!

Guderian.jpg

Gut. That assault is now crippled. We will lay an ambush along the way.

As we end the turn, I'll take this opportunity to review anus' new speciality.
LP001Scouting9.jpg

Moar suppresion, eats up twice the ammo. Good thing Anus is a supply expert (and good thing towed arty has plenty of ammo to spare too). As you an see, Anus is ready for whatever - lightly entrenched and has the two defensive orders active - meaning he will provide support fire during, if my math is right, 6 enemy assualts (1 for the 1st commendation, 1 for unspent actions, 1 for plot artillery order and 3 more for accurate plotting order. Also, due to plot artillery and accurate plotting orders, these shots will be at extra strength).

Anus.jpg

Yeah, we're ready for whatever comes this way.

Stay tuned for enemy turn. I'm getting lots of codex errors right now, but hopefully DU get's this sorted out.

8 crosses ? I had 6 last update I saw.....I think.

So, you don't get any new recon units at all ? That kinda sucks for the recons. Vital, sure, but definitely not a particularly stylish one.

You had 7 at Stalingrad, and now I gave you another cross. Wanted to show off that veteran order that comes with it.
Unfortunately, testing so far shows that the 15 str. artillery is not really that effective. I mean, yeah, they kill infantry, but the oldhaubitze already did that.

Yep. When it comes to recon upgrades they get the shitty end of the stick.
The PSW231 actually lasts for about 90% of the campaign.
For the last 10% they get ONE meaningful upgrade.

Ruskie recons on the other hand have it so much better. You get a variety of light cars (which looked like regular streetcars with some plating and sometimes a turret welded on), up to something that actually looks like a light tank.

***

HIDDEN MOVEMENT!

Anus.jpg

Here pussy, pussy, pussy
LP001Enemy1.jpg

Enemy infantry walkes right into Anus' range, then into our dug in and camouflaged auxilliary StuG emplacement.
LP001Enemy2.jpg

Anus.jpg

No survivors.

The remains of the Russian assault beeline towards Stalingrad. We see another ruskie AT gun placed on the stolen PzIII Chassis.
Serrated.jpg

Nigga stole mein Panzer? I mean that's Reich property.

Anus cannot really penetrate its armor. So it's up to Azira and Serrated to knock it out.
LP001Enemy5.jpg

LP001Enemy6.jpg

Serrated.jpg

I have it. Not sure if we want it back though.

As I said, the recon car beelines for Stalingrad. Had we nod placed that infantry there, it would be game over now.
LP001Enemy4.jpg

Wyrmlord will chase it off.

Anus and Carius mop up to the north.
LP001Enemy7.jpg

Carius.jpg

I saw one more infantry somewhere out there, and there's supposed to be an artillery piece around.

Guderian.jpg

Let them come. We need that airstrip.

LP001Enemy3.jpg

NewBee.jpg

We're being swarmed by the enemy over here!

Derper.jpg

Oh fuck, they're really trying to ream it up our ass hard over here!

Churchills are tough. What's worse, they're assisted by a Su122 mobile artillery.
LP001Enemy8.jpg

Merk.jpg

I'll give them a piece of that.

LP001Enemy9.jpg

HooDoo.jpg

Shitfuck, this is suicide. We need some serious AT over here!

Vaarne and Garf are busy shelling the objective.
LP001Enemy9a.jpg

But hellraiser's around to clean up the churchill
LP001Enemy9b.jpg

And Cassidy puts some hurt to the Su122
LP001Enemy9c.jpg

Derper.jpg

We're driving them back, keep pushin!
LP001Enemy9d.jpg

Derper.jpg

Just a wee bit more!

Katz.jpg

Kommander, we saw heavy air movement. Permission to search & destroy.
Guderian.jpg

Granted. We need them skies clear.
vonUlm.jpg

Found them. Not all of them, though.
LP001Enemy9e.jpg

Katz.jpg

Bring down as many as you can.
LP001Enemy9f.jpg

Katz.jpg

Fighter escort is down. One IL heavily damamged.
vonUlm.jpg

We'll slaughter them like Schweine fur Bratwurst!

Enemy turn again. The enamy cowers before our advancing colun and withdraws. Nonetheless, a lone AA and infantry steps forward to resist us. This will be easy.

More heavy air movement . A Hurricane and another bomber harasses our defenders near stalingrad.

Aaaand the lone Katyusha is found...
LP002Defense1.jpg

And promptly obliteraded.
LP002Defense2.jpg

Carius.jpg

No more assaulting for them.
Carius.jpg

We should see to the Northern objective, I think.

Down south, Hellraiser clears the advancing force, assisted by Merk
LP002Defense3.jpg

LP002Defense4.jpg

And Vaarne disposes of the SU.
LP002Defense5.jpg

Vaarne-1.jpg

We're near the river. Ready for crossing.

Garf.jpg

Don't overextend, we still have an objective to secure.
Derper.jpg

And some more stragglers in the nearby woods.

Guderian.jpg

Luftwaffe will take care of this. Proceed towards the river.

Enemy turn again. We see lots and lots of bombers bothering our artillery, and fighters trying to bring down our stukas.

The lone artillery is spotted to the north. they are assisted by infantry.
LP002Defense6.jpg

Both are quickly dispatched. Anus, Carius and Serrated move to investigate the objective.

Meanwhile, down south our main force rolls past the objective, Gondolin takes it off.
LP002Defense7.jpg

We take what little potato can be found and leave it unguarded.

Gondolin.jpg

The Ruskies can have this shithole for all I care.

Nice opportunity. Serrated finds a freshly refit IL near the airfiled.
Serrated.jpg

I'll spoil their evening alittle bit.
LP002Defense8.jpg

The objective is lightly defended. All it takes is a bit of artillery fire and it quickly succumbs to the Tiger's might.

LP002Defense9.jpg

Carius' fighting prowess is rewarded.
LP002Defense9a.jpg

And that's the level 10 veteran order. Doesn't look stunning on paper, but the ignore ZOC function is very very useful for that last-turn-for-major land grabs.

Gloriuos Luftwaffe scores another kill. Actually, that's two kills, vonUlm nailed another bomber harrassing our main advance.
LP002Defense9b.jpg

Unfortunately, our wheeled artillery is badly shot up by enemy airplanes. This slows us down a bit, but we still manage to cross the river. It's not far from the objective.

We drop Azira in. We need those 12 units at the exit zone, and that would be the limit of paradrop range.
LP002Defense9c.jpg

Guderian.jpg

We're at the cross roads, the exit zone is dead ahead.
Guderian.jpg

I guess we'll take the southern route. Looks much quicker.

Azira.jpg

I'll scout out and guard our flank, just to be sure.

Enemy turn.

Aaand we have a bump.

Feck, ran into another Internal server error in the meantime...

Enemy turn.

Despite our best efforts to secure our flank, cBreaker and Psychic are bothered by a pack of russians.
cbreaker.jpg

We ambush them!
LP002Fight1.jpg

cbreaker.jpg

Oh shit!
Oh shit indeed. The T70 is not alone.
LP002Fight3.jpg

Psychic.jpg

We won't even scratch that armor. Requesting support.

Also, a Russian counteroffensive (pulling units out of its ass again are we?) seizes the objective we've left behind.
LP002Fight2.jpg

Guderian.jpg

That is irrelevant. At least they'll be busy for a little while.

And a little while is all we need.

Cassidy.jpg

We are approaching the designated zone. Secondary objective is nearby.
Katz.jpg

We need to be sure.
Katz.jpg

The resistance near the objective is minimal.
Katz.jpg

I also see an IL. Proceeding to kill it.
LP002Fight4.jpg

Vaarne, Merk and Cassidy shell the defenders to oblivion.
LP002Fight5.jpg

And the objective is quickly taken.
LP002Fight6.jpg

Vaarne-1.jpg

I am proud to serve the Vaterland.
Vaarne-1.jpg

Road is now clear. Prepare to move out.

Derper.jpg

How about waiting for us? Only for a little bit?

Carius.jpg

Panze Kommander here. This is urgent. We're under attack.
LP002Fight9.jpg

Carius.jpg

Amerikaner tank and a T34. We're being flanked!
Anus.jpg

I'm badly shot up. We should withdraw.
Serrated.jpg

Right. no sense playing heroes. We'll move back to the airstrip.

No other choice, really, the Luftwaffe is busy elsewhere...
LP002Sitrep1.jpg

As you can see, the path to the exit arrow is clear. We will secure the road up north and exit the files quickly.
Our artillery group is lagging behind. Enemy aicraft don't fo much damage, but they like to kill our move orders really good.
Derper had to resupply, ditto for Psychic. Fortunately, Merk's Wurfrahmen remained mobile to assist the main group.
There's a bit of a stalemate near the river crossing,

But the luftwaffe quickly dispatches the offending tanks.
LP002Fight7.jpg

LP002Fight8.jpg

The killing business' good.

eklektyk.jpg

Stuka here. We're done. Requesting fighter escort.
vonUlm.jpg

With pleasure.

During enemy turn, we see some movement up ahead.
An AA and a Katyusha rolled from the north. It is likely there's more when that came from.

Guderian.jpg

Hurry men. Move swiftly to the objective. Kill what you can, but move it.
LP002Fight9a.jpg

LP002Fight9b.jpg

We kill the AA and the katyusha. Our forces quickly move down the southern road

The luftwaffe scores a few additional kills:
LP002Fight9d.jpg

LP002Fight9c.jpg

Heinz gets the long overdue commendation in the processs,

LP002Sitrep3.jpg

In a true Aryan orderly fashion, we roll out. And it's done.

Debrief time
The potato count is nothing special this time. Even though we managed to squeeze a major victory out of this.
Killcount went down, but we were pressed for time.

This scenario was pretty interesting, moving out more than half of my fighting force, while defending an objective means shit was pretty tight. One unit could have made all the difference.
I admit, I took a risk here, if we lost but one recon car, I would then have to wait for 3 turns until the StuG or Carius fights their way to the objective.

But otherwise, there weren't many problems. I actually didn't have the sitrep screens to show this properly, but I managed to sneak past a sizeable enemy force - they were on our tail just a bit to the north of the exit zone.

Testing the overstranghtened units I have to say, I'm underwhelmed. The 15 str. artillery failed to deliver (almost no suppression vs tanks, mobility was low, one less range was a pain too). One good thig was the added resilence. It saved Anus' ass when he got jumbed by the M3A1.
On the other hand, with that extra range point such a situation would have never happened.

Not to mention, reduced mobility means it'll suck on any kind of offensive.

Yeah, it kills infantry dead, but that's what any artillery does.

Now, with regards to gondolin's new ride, not much of a difference compared to the PSW231.

Next up, the magnificent tank battles at Kursk.

What does Carius'es second recommendation do?
I looked at the manual and its phrased as vague as fuck.
Surprisingly all other descriptions make numerical sense.
What's infantry support in that context?

Also, should have left Carius to kill those 2 tanks. No risk, no fun. The real man blew up twelve T34 at one occasion when they thought his Tiger dead while in reality his driver was changing a track. :M

We begin Operation Citadel. This will be the turning point of this war.
LP001Begin1.jpg

LP001Begin2.jpg

And a glorious battle it shall be.

High Command gives us quite a few promotions this time as well. I'm beginning to wonder if there's any kind of pattern in this at all.

Now, there'll be some changes in our force again.
First of all, we ditch all that obsolete equipment we tried last time, except for the PSW 222 for Gondolin. It didn't do bad.

The Fuhrer gifts us a Bear that goes Brumm.
LP001Begin3.jpg

No reason not to give it to Merk. It's only con is the pitiful range, other than that it's one tough mofo.

Garf gets a brand new Panther.
LP001Begin4.jpg

Seexay.

And Derper will take a break from the good ole KV.
LP001Begin5.jpg

Vaarne refuses to let go of the MAJESTIC Stug.
LP001Begin6.jpg

Which means Cassidy gets the Nashorn. Sexy AT, but the low defense worries me.

Finally, we get to see two new faces:
[Yeah, that's what happens when you play 4 missions in a row. I lost the proper screenshots for the new guys.. oh well.]

Nex-1.jpg

This is the new face of Nex. Looks he's been into some plastic surgery lately.
He's our new, long-awaited infantry leader, leading the fearsome Stosstruppen.
And we all wish that he stays with us a bit longer, cause we really really need that infantry.
:salute:

spectre.jpg

And I'm grabbing that AA leader we got a few missions back for myself.
Spectre gets the standard issue 88 flaK, and has some hope of riding a Wirbelwind one day.

We have 12 turns for a victory. That's plenty. but we need to have a look at the terrain first.
LP001Begin7.jpg

Hmm. Looks rough.
We begin far from the main roads and the terrain looks difficult. Main objectives aren't too far away,
but the secondaries don't look too good. The ones to the North and the East we'll most likely skip, but that'll depend on actual enemy resistance.

It is decided that we split into two groups. One will attempt to quickly reach the road to the north and go for the central objective. The other one will cross the difficult terrain. Maybe we'll be able to flank the Commies.

Gondolin begins the recon.
LP001Begin8.jpg

Gondolin.jpg

Spotted a lone AT. Digged in deep. Road's clear apart from that.
NewBee scouts the Eastern passage.
LP001Begin9.jpg

NewBee.jpg

I see multiple contacts.
NewBee.jpg

The town is well defended. Thay also look like they're ready to meet us halfway.

Guderian.jpg

Heavy tanks and heavy AT cannons. Hmm.
Guderian.jpg

No going around them. We have to meet them in the field.

We assemble our force fo attack eastwards.
LP001Begin9a.jpg

Psychic and Merk will provide artillery support. Main battle tank group is Garf Vaarne and Hellraiser. Nex provides infantry support, NewBee will be their eyes & ears.

I send the Brummbar with this group because of the rough terrain.

HooDoo will stay put and guard the objective. It is very likely that ruskie recon cars will go straight at it.

The group to move to northern road is: Anus and cBreaker as artillery support, Cassidy and Carius as the main fighting force, Gondolin assist as recon. No infantry support here, Carius doesn't need it. This allows us to leave HooDoo as reserve.

It seems feasible to move the towed artillery in this direction. They'll quickly get to the road and achieve optimal mobility.

Now, before we move up north, we need to clean up a bit.
LP001Begin9b.jpg

I promoted JoKa a fair bit, and here's what we get.
Pretty good as a last ditch order, when we really need to take out that AA. Or a target protected by AA.

...To be continued

Yeah, I know I pussied out, but they almost killed anus so I went back into conservative mode.
I guess it does not show in the LP, but I rely on that artillery a lot.

And the second commendation goes like this - in normal circumstances when you attack entrenched infantry, you are forced into close combat (which means the combat odds are 0:1, at best, for heavy tanks attacking fully supresssed infantry).
Now if there's friendly infantry on the hex adjacent both to the attacking tank and the hex being attacked, then close combat no longer applies and we use normal attack soft target vs. armor calculation (and the combat odds jump up to around 0:3 for the Tiger - entrenchment bonus still does its thing nullifying some of the hits).
The 2nd comendation ensures Carius always attacks as though there is friendly infantry around to give support - it's pretty marginal all in all, but pretty useful given our chronic lack of infantry.

It also means he can take take objectives on his own, although a few artillery barrages are always a good start in such a case.

The Nashorn isn't that bad, it's an enhanced Marder III. The Marder didn't do too badly, so the Nashorn should be quite handy as well. I do question how the weaknesses of such monsters as the SU-152 have been modeled in the game (slow to load, low initiative).

Hope to make some kills this time around or get some bonus of whatever kind although that seems nigh impossible with the support role that artillery has.

I'm curious what the Brummbar will do. This "monster" was designed for heavy street fighting after the experiences of Stalingrad. It seems it will now be tested as a close support weapon for a tank slugfest...

I assume 1 unit of ammo is used per shot is it correct? If so then this is a major derp :retarded:

Time for a bump here, I'm really interested in whether the new German units make the difference against the fierce opposition. Given the impressive enemy units I really think that infantry is poorly matched. Or does infantry get an upgrade in their stats in 43? I think that the Panzerschreck or Panzerfaust should make quite a difference, especially in close combat.

Not dead yet. Been waiting for the internal server errors to go away. Seems like we're good.

Now, as you may probably don't remember, we've been deploying our forces for Kursk.
This scenario promises a great tank battle aheas, and we're not keeping the russians waiting.
LP002Sitrep1.jpg

First, the Luftwaffe is dispatched to clear the northern route...
LP002Attack1.jpg

JoKA.jpg

Luftwaffe reporting, target is down.

The northern road is clear.

Unfortunately, it is not as well down south.
LP002Attack2.jpg

eklektyk.jpg

Ficken Scheisse, the AA's onto us.
eklektyk.jpg

We'll have to withdraw.

We let them come to us then.

We see lots of air movement in enemy turn. They seem to be probing our positions, readying to strike.
LP002Attack3.jpg

Predictably, recon units beeline for the objective. Just one atm, but there can always be more.
We'll keep HooDoo as a rear guard for this reason.

But that's not the end of it!
NewBee.jpg

I see multiple enemies incoming
LP002Attack4.jpg

NewBee.jpg

They're rolling out of the valley. they're really close.

That's two KVs, and two more T34. Heavy armor assisted by a SU122 obile artillery.
Guderian.jpg

That'll be a tough nut to crack.

Guderian.jpg

Luftwaffe, we need that air superiority back!

Katz.jpg

We're on it. Requesting ground support.
Serrated.jpg

We're onto their sorry asses.
LP002Attack5.jpg

As the 88 begin to roar, Heinz Katz approaches the bombers out of the sun.
LP002Attack6.jpg

10 promotions and we get this. Looks good on paper, and it is. As I said earlier, air combat feels really random,
as in I often get freaky results, killing the enemy with strong losses. This tips the scale in our favor and it works, although the "large bonus" seems to be a bit of an overstatement.
It also helps that serrated didn't move since the beginning of the turn, so he can lay some hurt on that IŁ first.

The battle is fierce.
LP002Attack7.jpg

LP002Attack8.jpg

But Katz and Serrated manage to dispatch the enemy air units.

von Ulm tackles the rest of the spotted enemy air force.
LP002Attack9.jpg

Not a spectacular success, but that plane won't be bothering us for some time anyway.

Guderian.jpg

Gut. We have air superiority. Let the games begin.

Psychic.jpg

Prepare firing solution!
LP002Attack10.jpg

Nex-1.jpg

Shitty odds. That SU 122 is really ruining our day here.
LP002Attack11.jpg

JoKA.jpg

Luftwafe will assist. Eklektyk, I need you on this one.
eklektyk.jpg

I'm in bad shape, but screw this. For the Vaterland!
LP002Attack12.jpg

JoKA.jpg

We have their assess in the valley. They won't escape our wrath!
LP002Attack13.jpg

eklektyk.jpg

Kampfgruppe, we're done here. Your turn.

NewBee and Nex dispose of the russian elite infantry.
LP002Attack14.jpg

LP002Attack15.jpg

And Merk moves in with the brummbarr, a bit more suppression won' hurt.

Not us at least. Garf's Panther strikes .
LP002Attack16.jpg

LP002Attack17.jpg

Garf.jpg

Ha! they scatter like Kakerlachen!
Vaarne takes a few hits from the T34...
LP002Attack18.jpg

But is assisted by hellraiser and manages to dispatch it.
LP002Attack19.jpg

Vaarne-1.jpg

Ha, we beat them.

Meanwhile up north...
Gondolin.jpg

Scouts reporting. We're near the objective.
Gondolin.jpg

There's a T34 and fortifications ahead. Looks like the town is well defended.

Guderian.jpg

Get that artillery in siege positions asap. We need to take that town quickly.

Sitrep time.
LP002Sitrep2.jpg

The Russian counterassault is beaten, but there is still strong resistance to the south. A lone scout has approached our rear, but that's of no consequence for now.
We are split into two more or less even groups. The Northern one consists of cBreaker and Anus as artillery support, with spectre as AA. Gondolin provides recon. Derper, Carius and Cassidy are the main striking force.

The souther group is Vaarne on the majestic StuG, Hellraiser and Garf (on the Panther) as the main striking force, with Nex's stosstruppen assisting. Merk's brummbar provides short range artillery support, Psychic is long-range arty. NewBee is their eys and ears, Serrated watches over the skies. They're attempting to break through enemy resistence and seize the objective. Recent flawless victory has gotten our morale up, but we mustn't get cocky.

Infantry units: HooDoo and Azira are kept in reserve.
So far so good.

Hidden Movement...

A lone AA moves over towards von Ulm... this won't be good.
vonUlm.jpg

Scheisse, I'm shot full of holes!
LP002Counter1.jpg

Most unfortunate.
LP002Counter2.jpg

vonUlm.jpg

Dammit, I've gotta to bail out.

There goes our air superiority.

Ok what is this shit now?
Garf.jpg

Bah, I can take it.
LP002Counter3.jpg

But that's just a prelude. A SU76 rolls over...
Garf.jpg

I ca...
LP002Counter4.jpg

Bad positioning on a river plus a 76mm gun gets us this.
RIP Garf. You have served the Vaterland well.

Guderian.jpg

Gott dammit, no!
Guderian.jpg

I want them flayed. You hear me?

LP002Counter5.jpg

Karmic justice at work. HooDoo nails the eney t70 nonchalantly trying to stroll into our town.

Now, we're out fr blood.
Anus pounds the SU76
LP002Counter6.jpg

Even though it has relatively low armor, the feeble 7,5 lefK can barely put a dent on it, here's the result of 5 fire orders. Minor damage, meadium supression.
LP002Counter7.jpg

But that's enough for Carius.
LP002Counter8.jpg

Guderian.jpg

The Communists surreder to me.
Guderian.jpg

I will provide their asses on a silver platter.

That's that for now. NewBee scouts some more, revealing heavy resistance near the objective.
LP002Counter9.jpg

LP002Sitrep3.jpg

The Approach north goes slow. We still have a lone KV to catch near the river.
It appears that the russian strike force is beaten, but our forces got it bad too. We need to get our shit together, form a proper striking column.

The Kv gets chased a bit, but Vaarne is unable to knock it out.
LP003Strike1.jpg

Finally spectre puts it down, scoring the first kill.

LP003Strike2.jpg

Katz nails the beat-up La-5.
Katz.jpg

That's for Ulm.

Guderian.jpg

Hmm. Think. Gotta think.
Guderian.jpg

We need reinforcements. That's for sure. Otherwise the whole southern assault will grind to a halt.

Therefore, Garf's cousin is immediately drafted as a stand-in.
LP003Strike3.jpg

Garf-1.jpg

Ready to serve the Fuhrer.

And immediately gets into the thick of things.
LP003Strike4.jpg

Garf-1.jpg

Schwein!

Meanshile, Gondilin scouts the objective.
Gondolin.jpg

I see a...
LP003Strike5.jpg

Gondolin.jpg

Well fuck me, that's a lot of Kommunists.

Not sure if you can see all this, there's two AAs, two artillery pieces (one howitzer, one katyusha) and two infantry units.

Guderian.jpg

Deploy artillery for siege. No more surprises this time.

Guderian.jpg

And get rid of that KV clumsily attempting to falnk us.

JoKA.jpg

Luftwaffe ready to oblige.
LP003Strike6.jpg

A rare moment of resipte for our bombers.
LP003Strike7.jpg

eklektyk.jpg

No valid targets to kill. They're all protected by AA.

And so, the stukas take some time to resupply and refit.

Forces are deployed near the central objective. Cassidy digs in and camouflages. Derper secres the flank to the north, Carius secures the other flank.
cbreaker.jpg

Artillery in position. Waiting for the order to strike.
Anus.jpg

This'll be tough. I don't have the range to get to the AAs and that katyusha.

As they say, good things come to those who wait.
LP003Strike8.jpg

Cassidy.jpg

kekekeke!
LP003Strike9.jpg

Cassidy.jpg

Zerstort!

Most fortunate. One AA gladly offers it's ass for buttrape.
And tasteful it was.

Meanwhile, another KV moves from the south, threatening the flank of our norhtern group.

Sitrep time.
LP003Sitrep4.jpg

Siege of the central objective is underway. We're having problems with range, the artillery cannot get to some ofthe vital targets, and the entire town is riddled with bunker hidey holes. Fortunately, the 85 AA commited a spectacular suicide, so we can now attempt some airstrikes over here.

Down south, our forces are in the middle of getting their shit together, but the siege has not yet begun. This is mostly due to the havy fighting we ran intoand difficult terrain, but If it continues like this, we may not be able to capture many secondary objectives.

That'll be all for today. Stay tuned for moar.
