I played these years ago on emulators and don't remember having many problems (played the whole series in order). But looking at those maps....holy shit. I have no idea how I made it through. Pretty sure I saved in emulator rather than using the games' save systems, though.

They were fun games, but I don't think I could ever go back to them on account of the randomized encounters. Those are just too annoying for me to put up with now.

Goddamn this is awesome.

I like how the developers decided "Eh, why not give a sequel in an outdated series an awesome soundtrack?" Can you imagine a studio these days putting that kind of love into a relatively insignificant and primitive game like that?

Since the dude who made it, Hitoshi Sakimoto, is still around, I'd say yeah.
