To be fair, back quiever's were a valid approach in archery, and were used:

I'd bet the quiver on the back was more of a military parade type thing, like how in modern military parades soldiers hold their guns on display. But once war starts all hell breaks loose and you use the weapon how it's supposed to be used

Obsidian fixing up the ambient tracks

Take heart my fellow cricket haters. Your picture has inspired us to improve our wilderness day and night time ambiences (and some other ones too). Fellow Obsidian sound designers are working on this RIGHT NOW as I type.

Can't wait to watch the stream they will be showing later today. It will be the last video footage I look at before the game releases. I will follow everything else.

I hope this means that the testers were now actually able to tolerate the combat for long enough to get annoyed at the ambience sounds.

Another stream? Where did they announce it? I had no idea.

PAX South or something, there'll be a panel with Sawyer, Brennecke, Cain, Avellone and BAdler and I think Josh will be playing again.

D:OS outside of Cyseal still isn't playable after seven months. Wasteland 2 isn't playable after four.

On the plus side it works out for me if they finish those up before Pillars is ready, because I can only be disappointed further if I play them after.

It's not playable for me if I refuse to play it. :P
You refuse to play it. It is very much playable. Playable enough for people to complete it. Don't worry though, you seem like a very special person. All us others aren't.

Roguey Problem: I imagine Pillars of Eternity won't be "playable" until the expansion pack is released, since they will no doubt save many general improvements in the pipeline until its release. And finishing the expansion could take quite a while. What will you do??

http://steamcommunity.com/stats/230230/achievements Not a very high number. I won't consider them playable until Larian and inXile finish their major rebalance passes.

I might not even get the expansion. I'll start it when the major bugs are fixed. I doubt there'll be any need for extreme balance changes, just a lot of minor tweaking.

That's nothing new. A lot of gamers don't finish games. Even AAA games have like 25-35% of people completing them. And those games are supposed to be geared towards the masses. STEAM acievemtns don't mean much to me, personally.

The Banner Saga has a 12,9% completion rate on Normal difficulty. Less than 30% has the Dragonslayer achievement. Skyrim isn't really a hard game and it is as streamlined as it gets. 14,5% completed the main quest of The Witcher 2. Less than 10% finished Blackguards.

I searched and searhed and the only RPG I found with a higher completion rate than 50% was South Park: The Stick of Truth.
