Looks great, lots of icewind dale vibes in there too. Animations, yeah, but I assume they'll work on it.

Spell animations look like barf. Especially fireball. Christ, the most iconic spell has to be the most interesting. Not only is it banal, the 3d effect of the sphere looks like its 2001.

MCA Project: Eternity
Are Codex contributions integrated into the backer portal, or should we not concern ourselves with that sort of thing?

It's kinda amusing to see RPS more hyped for a turn-based than a RTwP game.

What do you mean?

I mean than Nathan Grayson seems to be more hyped for Wasteland 2 than for Project Eternity:

Pillars of Eternity, relatively early though it still might be, is shaping up to be an impressive piece of work. I’m not quite wowed like I was when I went to see Wasteland 2, but so long as Obsidian sticks to The Plan, I think it’s got a good chance of pumping out another strong RPG.

RPS also approved of Torment's combat decision: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/12/09/the-turn-based-tides-of-numenera-torment/

It must be Brian Fargo's charm.

Today's long-awaited Kickstarter update for Obsidian's Project Eternity informs us that the game is now officially called Pillars of Eternity, and introduces its new official site and pledge management portal, where you can finally register for all those add-ons you paid money for last year.

No complaining about asking for more money? Or still too busy being distracted by shiny things?

Codex 2014 Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong A Beautifully Desolate Campaign
Wilderness areas are being outsourced, so more Wilderness areas = more $ for outsourcing
Companion might mean bringing another Obsidian inhouse writer onto the project after South Park (I do not know who did companions on FNV, but you guys will)

Looks very nice, though I never doubted that. Still seems pretty goddamned generic though. Will keep any real critique until we see some actual gameplay or screenshots which don't read "Generic Fantasy Game #3758563524".

Jesus fuck. Those are probably some of the most beautiful pre-rendered backdrops I have seen in any game, bar none, and the characters look great too. Really damn impressed with this.

I'm not sure if I like the new name. They should have stayed with Project Eternity.

Funny thing is, this update is still not on Kickstarter.
