Use fast mode.

Even with fast mode. Maybe I suffer from ADHD.

It would be nice if an abstracted, Darklands-like city navigation menu became available once a map has been explored (while still allowing for random events).

PoE already employs menus heavily, so it wouldn't feel out of place.

Aside from Arcanum allowing you to talk to dead people, don't remember other games with souls. at least any recent games.

Ultima VIII: Pagan had the Death Speak spell, which you had to use in order to learn all of the spells of Necromancy, from all of the dead Necromancers.

In Ultima VII Part 2 Serpent Isle you could cast a Séance spell which was used to communicate with several dead people and the dead hierophants of the Ophidians.

Boring bland crap.

PoE is not the game Obsidian wanted to make. It simply oozes from every interaction they've had in regards of it. Hell, they seem to even have more fun making the tank game for Russians. Born out of desperation, completed out of obligation.

It's O.K. Obs, you don't have to make cRPGs for shitty grognards. We're letting you go.

If every game born out of desperation will be as good as PoE I hope we'll see more and more developers turning to CRPGs in their utter despair.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Why the fuck would a kickstarter game with no real restrictions, at least creatively, have these creative issues? This was the time for Obsidian to shine. Why would they ever cut mca's ideas? I used to like them, didn't play most of their games but I used to forgive them for their faults. Now. . . fuck them.

They money was in a Baldur's Gate clone. They wouldn't have been able to make nearly as much with a creative passion project. This was a money-making move while the company was in dire straits. They made the right move, it's just a shame that they skewed soooooo heavily towards being boring. It's a great setting and yet they explore it in such a boring way that the franchise has become tiring and predictable in a single entry. Like, every plotline is basically:

- An Engwithithian artifact has been rediscovered. People don't know how to use it but alas the human drive to experiment will cause them to anyway...with deadly results!
- Someone's soul from the past is different in some way from their soul in the present...with deadly results!
- Animancers are tampering with souls again. For some reason all animancers are psychopaths so...deadly results!
- Dyrwoodans are ignorant backwoods hicks...with deadly results!
- Glanfathans are highly protective of their lands and artifacts...WDR!
- There's a place...a cave or an old manor or something...it's filled with trashmobs...spam your per encounter abilities.
