Quick question, is there any way to use stealth in combat at all? Although I don't have a dedicated stealth character in my party, I was wondering if it has any use in a combat scenario. I get it that if I go stealth before the combat, I can approach an enemy and make a stealth attack which causes big damage. But what happens after that? With the engagement system, I assume your stealth character will be pulled into an engagement immediately, which is basicly a death sentence if there are other enemies around you. Can you go stealth during combat?

You can't except with a rogue ability that's only 2x per rest, it's useful for getting around engagement then reaching the back line to rip apart lone wizards and priests.

You go invisible, until you strike someone, included with the ability to avoid eng.

Rogues can become invisible. To become invisible, you paradoxically have to be spotted by the enemy first (to trigger the combat state).

I am not sure when the acts end/begin, but I reached level cap around Twin Elms, which I thought was act III. I did every quest, except that I did not finish Endless Paths.

Well it was like that in BG1 as well. You would hit level cap before end if you did most of the quest, explored most of the maps and killed all the high XP monsters.

and why the fuck this is not tweaked so you reach level cap near the end of the game?

limited XP for opponents, XP given per quest and not kills and still they were not able to tweak this shit properly?

You do reach level cap near end of the game. If you do everything, then you will reach level cap early in Act 3, though Act 3 is small.

It would be stupid if you only just reached max level by being a completionist. (This is why, for people like us, there needs to be a reduced XP gain mod.)

And it isn't tweaked properly when you reach level cap in the final act because...?

mutonizer says he reached the last boss with a level 9-10 party, Link.

Exp progression doesn't seem to be all that bad, if you do a few quests then you'll probably reach it max level, I kinda don't see what's the problem with reaching the level cap earlier if you do most if not all of the side content.

Is detecting hiden items in stealth mode dependent on some attribute?

Perception?

I've tested this and I'm about as certain as can be that finding/spotting it is governed by Mechanics. I have a person with high Mechanics and low Perception and I have a person with No Mechanics and High Perception. By saving the game near a known trap, yes I tested it because it was confusing due to definitions given and what I was seeing just playing... That the high perception, no mechanics person was useless in spotting. The high mechanic, low perception character spotted the trap from a good 15-20 feet out.

Thought it was based on Mechanic, Wish if finding traps and secrets had an exploration toggle like in NWN or just via a Perception check or something like in IE games.

I thought stealth affected finding extra loot stashes all over every map ... although it makes sense for traps to be discovered by mechanics skill.

although i have everything high with someone so i cant tell.
