"I'm of a mind to follow the noise, and deal with the source one way or the other." said Borric, gripping his Maul.

"Well, something caused that noise and I'd prefer to know what it is before going anywhere else...

These halls seem cursed enough as it is, I'd rather not also have to worry about whatever made that noise creeping up behind us as we go forward.”

Urash makes a point of spitting on the ground in contempt.

Rhenmyr holds his position for a few more minutes observing the man at the edge of the fallen trail. Concurrent with the main entrance being breached, a faint yell echoes up the gorge and the man who was standing guard abandons his post and bounds down the steep rocky trail and disappears around the bend.

Alright. So are people moving back toward the room with the pit for now? Are you split into two groups? Is anybody doing something else?

"Noise it is." Marcán says with a sigh, starting to walk toward the source of the commotion.

Seeing the man run off, Rhenmyr hurries to the others investigating the noise. "Something's afoot outside. The watchman ran off."

As your group begins to file into the central passage of the crypt and walks back toward the southernmost room (where the noises are coming from). You hear a loud *clack* reverberate off the walls, it sounds like stone on stone.

(For reference this is what the southern part of the crypt looks like, I'm not sure I did a great job of describing it properly)

Alright. I'm going to assume you all walk to the edge of the room with the pit based on earlier comments. Is this correct? What now?

At the edge of the pit room, Rhenmyr stows his spear and shield and readies his bow. "Borric and Brule should be prepared to guard the ledge around the edge of the pit. Whatever made that noise probably wont be friendly. Unless someone thinks we should try the ledge and investigate further."

With Rhenmyr in the fore several feet from the edge of the pit and others a few feet behind him you can all just make out a commotion beyond the (now breached) entrance to the tomb.

Shouts, the cries of injured or dying men, shadows temporarily flitting across the narrow band of light where the door is breached, several heavy *thuds* against the stone seal and then total silence.

"Isn't that interesting." Rhenmyr slowly moves westward around the pit toward the entrance (Readying spear and shield if he get to the hallway without any surprises). "Someone care to join me going around eastward? If nothing charges us before I get to the entrance, two of you set up a tripwire just inside the pit room from the entrance hall."

"Sure, blindly heading into battle is, well that's the brutes job. I'll back you up just the same." Marcán rambles, inching around eastward of the pit.

As Marcán and Rhenmyr carefully slide along the narrow ledge. Marcán is concentrating on his foot placement with his torch held aloft. In the northeast corner of the room you spot a very curious thing. A pair of hands are clinging to the lip of the pit. Attached to the pair of hands is a set of skinny, dirty arms and attached to them is a man in filthy rags. Your eyes meet.

3 in 4 chance for either Marcán or Rhenmyr to notice something [1d4] = 2, [1d4] = 4

(Alright Stalin_Brando you've just met Siveon's character Marcán I leave it up to you all to play this out how you want to)

The figure sighs. This is a tiresome hiding place, anyway. He jerks his arms and catapults into the air, landing nimbly on the thin ledge. He rubs his arms. Some maidens at home called them skinny, but I believe there is some strength in them yet.

He bows deeply. Salaam Effendi. My name is Rashid Nizari Ismaili Andhaira Ad Din Sinan. You may call me Rashid. Not Rash-id, Raah-sheeed. Rashid stares up at the huge Kelt. If you intend to kill Uvan and his dogs, perhaps you will let me aid you before you kill me.

He turns and saunters around the ledge. The ledge is broken. You would do well to step carefully, or walk around the other side. He skips casually over the offending tile.

I see you have one of my countrymen amongst you, although I will not hold it against you. Rashid nods at Urash. This is like some tale from home, eh? The Thief and the Sorceror. Haha.

He starts to walk towards the door. If you men create a distraction, I believe I can hide behind a door and backstab one of these jackals. Although, that son of a whore, Uvon, I would prefer to take alive.

"Well met, Rashid. I'm Rhenmyr of Stygia. What brings you to Pictland and what can you tell us about what is going on outside?" Rhenmyr ponders the odds of stumbling across two Accadians in such a remote area and doesn't like the implications.

"You're treating this awfully well." Marcán takes a look at Rhenmyr before looking back toward the ragged man. "In any case I am Marcán - and we do not intend to kill you, as of right now."

Well met, gentlemen. I was a trader, once. I came this far North seeking goods that I knew would be valuable in Akkadia. Unfortunately I was captured by these Picts and made a slave of a man called Uvon. I was put in a collar on the end of a long chain, and always kept attached to that spawn of a Pictish whore. You will find the chain just outside the door, one end fixed to a tree. It is about twenty, er, feeet in the measurement of Northern barbarians. You may see later that I am not lying to you.

I had stolen a small knife when Uvon was not watching me. This is it. I kept it hidden in these boots. I was waiting for a chance to slip away from my captor. Just now he and his men were attacked by some kind of water monster. Seeing they were distracted, I used the knife to pick the lock on my collar, and slipped inside the door. I found myself alone in this tomb. When I heard you men coming, I did not know if you were friend or foe of Uvon. Lacking a decent place to hide, I attempted to hang from my fingers in this pit. And that is how you found me just now.

Come, let us prepare to fight these men. Later, if you are not satisfied, you can do with me as you wish. I am in the hands of the gods, now.

But I beg you, do not kill the dog Uvon. I swear by Sin, I will make him pay for the indignities I have suffered.

"This slaver of yours, Skulking One, would he answer to your taunts? For if he does, perhaps we can lead him into these very traps, or somewhere where we can have the higher hand." asks Borric of Rashid.
