"Fidach made it? Good. Seems this Uvan is prone to lies. Hopefully Oona is safe as well. And this armor is a real prize as well."

The other figure framed in the light of the open seal pipes up at Rhenmyr's mention of Oona, "What? Missing me already were you?" She files in behind her father to the edge of the pit where you are congregated around Uvan's body. You're not sure, but can almost detect the faintest smirk on her lips when she looks at you.

"Concerned, yes. This...man claimed your father was dead and you headed to a fate likely worse." Rhenmyr nudges the fallen Pict with his boot. "I suggest we strip him of his gear and tie him up for questioning. Who will that armor fit? The stuff we recovered in Odessos needs an armorer's touch before any of us could make use of it. That said, I'll collect arrows and darts."

"I would say our men thickest in the fray have best need of such armour, but where did he get it from? For all you know he looted it off this very tomb, or some other. We best make sure to bind him well and ask him of it... thoroughly."

Rashid gives his old master a swift kick in the ribs, for old times sake.

Tie his hands with rope if you wish. But it would do me good to see my old chain securely around the bastard's neck.

At least the dog has taught me to always be on my guard, and to trust no one. If I wasn't already convinced of that. I also learnt a few new curses.

If this tomb safe? What did you find inside?

Returning with any of the errant missiles found, Rhenmy says: "There's a large door and a crawl way above. The former unopened, the latter led to Cormac's wounds. All else has been explored and should be safe. Fidach, Oona, what happened outside?"

Fidach nods his head knowingly. "Fortunately for me, my daughter is very cautious. Rather than wait in the open she insisted we move down the shore and hide o'er yonder in the that thicket of willows. Good thing too, because not an hour or so after you disappeared into the tomb that dog Uvan and his fiana (a warband) showed up and started arguing about how to get in to the tomb. Next thing I know, they chip away at the door with mauls and picks and some "thing" erupts from the water and lays waste to the whole dozen . . . well except for Uvan. He must have slain the creature or banished it back to the pool. It's difficult to say, we couldn't see much."

Let me know if you guys are done with the tomb. If so ,I'll go ahead and calculate up all of the experience awards you are due. If not, then we'll wait a bit.

"Seems we were right to avoid using the front door. After we question Uvan, we'll need to decide when to continue exploring the tomb or proceed to go after the wolf without the spear. I'm inclined to go after the spear."

"We will need that spear if we're to end that wolf. It is either that or the Bard's blade against the beast. Best we have alternatives." says Borric as he tears rags of Uvan's clothing and gags him with it, to prevent the slaver from casting rope magic or something similar again.

Shadorwun: Hong Kong
Marcán laughs, "No. There could be more monstrous beings that lie in wait in the very room the object we're looking for holds. Mind if I examine the blade he held? His sword stung like the piss of a promiscuous man." he jokingly groans.

Lore check for sword & armor?

"It appears that Uvan will live. He is just out cold. I would rather deal with 10 Uvan's than those snake creatures again, but I think we need that spear."

Brule listens intently as the group talks back and forth trying to decide what to do before interjecting.

"Friends I think we should make all haste to retrieve this spear. In the meantime I'll take this cur outside and tie him up and make sure he doesn't cause any mischief when he wakes up. There's no telling how long we have to find the beast in his lair and I suspect Talorc isn't going to be patient to hear word of our fate."

Hearing the name of Talorc amidst the Pictish talk, Borric asks of anyone willing to translate, "What did he say? Do they want this spear or not?"

"I agree with Brule. We shouldn't tarry. Rashid, we'll be passing the snake creature's remains as we continue our search. Hopefully that will sate your curiosity without having to face another one in combat." Rhenmyr then translates for Borric: "Brule suggests we don't waste time in retrieving he spear."

So, what of the lore check?
Ah yes, thanks for reminding me.

Marcán handles Uvan's shortsword and mail shirt looking for anything remarkable. The shortsword is made of simple bronze, it is leaf shaped with forged edge. It is slightly pitted with age and has a faint green patina. There is no casting mark or special symbols - it's just a simple, well-made implement of war. The mail shirt on the other hand is clearly a masterwork. The collar, hem and sleeves are inlaid with silver buttons and embellishments and the byrnie is very light in the hand; no more than 5 lbs. or so. Stitched into the lining is a gold thread Dethek rune which is probably Dvergar, but you can't decipher it.

The shirt looks like it would fit a man of roughly average build (i.e. it wouldn't fit a Hyperborean, Dvergar or Halfling).
