So, am I now free to make an attack roll?

Yes indeed. (in a combat situation) You can move ten feet per round on the ledge without requiring a Dexterity check, 20 feet per round is a 3d6 check and 30 feet per round is 4d6, etc.

Alright, so what do I roll if I just want to knock him out with the bunt of my Falcata?

I think I've got a better way to handle misses.
You can fire into melee and pick your target.
However, if you roll less than 10 (meaning it wasn't deflected by armor or shield, it was a total miss) the missile goes errant and anyone engaged in melee range with that target has an equal chance of being hit.
Weapon Specialization still gives the fighter a chance to avoid unintended targets.

I think this will do a better job of making missile weapons more viable, it will gradually reward character skill as to-hit bonuses increase, and will do a better job of simulating the difference between a "miss" and a "deflection"

Normal to-hit roll and damage. if successful, half of the damage is real and the other half is temporary. If temporary and real damage reduces the target to 0 hit points they fall unconscious. if you somehow inflict real damage that totals their max hit points they die (you can sometimes accidentally kill someone when you try to subdue)

Marcán slides along the ledge, abandoning the tripline. He rounds the corner and sees Borric, Rashid and Brule being wrapped in the coils of a thin silvery rope that seems to have a life of its own. You come at the flank of the tall rangy Pict with his ruin of a face bedecked in thick furs. The pommel of his sword comes down but glances off of the man's shoulder harmlessly. He turns to Marcán and snarls in heavily accented Keltic, "Ya fuckin' red cunt! I'll gut ya and feed yer entrails to my hounds."

Round 2

Rhenmyr
Borric*
Rashid*
Marcán, Urash, Ker, Cormac + Uvan (simultaneous)
Brule*

*Borric, Brule and Rashid can move 10 feet this round and lose their attack/action although they can attempt to break free on a 6d6 strength check.

(Technically the only person currently engaged in melee with Uvan is Marcán for those considering missile attacks. We'll go ahead and use the new rules from this point forward if that's satisfactory for everyone; it don't think it would change much of what has transpired so far)

So ERYFKRAD and Stalin_Brando you can try to break the bonds with a 6d6 Strength check (less than or equal to successfully escape). You must let go of your weapon (and shield if you have one) to try it however. You can attempt to break free in any round hereafter but it gets harder by +1 to the roll on each subsequent attempt.

Brule fights the rope
Brule's attempt to break free [6d6] = 21 vs. 16
But he's held fast by it.

If people want to declare their actions go ahead and I'll sort out the order.
ERYFKRAD and Stalin_Brando are you just going to forgo your attack this round or are you going to drop your weapons and try to break free?

I don't go this round, then?

My bad, I somehow left Marcán's name out when I was writing down simultaneous actors. Yes, you do get to go at the same time as Uvan and most of everyone else.

If I can move ten feet, can I just ram into Uvan?

Ramming someone would be an "attack." Currently you are too tangled up to do anything but shuffle about ten feet.

If we are going with the new rules, I'll try throwing darts at Uvan since the attempts to subdue him painlessly (for us) are visibly not proceeding as planned.

Sure, we'll go with the new rules.

One of your throws was less than ten so you need to re-roll the attack for that errant dart and then I'll determine randomly who might be a target -- in this case only Marcán is "engaged" in melee because the other characters are unable to attack this round. In the next round when they regain their attack(s) they would all be eligble for any miss that rolls less than a 10.

Urash tries to chuck a trio of darts at the mangled Pict, hoping he does not hit one of his comrades this time!

[1d20] = 15+1=16
Damage: [1d3] = 3

[1d20] = 12+1=13
Damage: [1d3] = 2

[1d20] = 3+1=4
Damage: [1d3] = 2

A dart lands solidly in the Pict's thigh and he is now staggering around looking like a stiff breeze would be enough to knock him over.

Uvan and Marcán trade blows simultaneously. The Keltic bard brings the pommel of his falcata down on the Pict's head with a thunderous blow that sends him sprawling across the floor insensate.

Uvan's last gasp attack against Marcán [1d20+5] = 18+5 = 23, damage [1d6+3] = 1+3 = 4

However he gets a nasty gash in his thigh from the man's short sword for his trouble.

(L'ennui roll that errant dart to see if Marcán gets hit for anymore damage.)

The rope is still twisting and writhing with a life of its own and holds the trio of Rashid, Brule and Borric in its grasp.

Combat is over now, right?

More or less . . .

For about ten more minutes, the rope continues to writhe and grasp, before whatever animus gives it "life" finally subsides and its thin, silvery-white fibers go slack.

Uvan's vacant face is a bloody mess -- One eye is completely swollen shut and purpling, the other stares vacantly at the ceiling. Beneath the rents in his shabby looking fur garments a byrnie of silvery links can be seen. Feeling it reveals that it is as thin and supple as linen. There is no doubt that this is made of legendary mithril steel a substance most of you have only ever heard about in tales. How this Dvergar treasure ended up in the hands of this foul-smelling, Pictish brute strikes everyone assembled as extremely odd.

Brule in particular looks very confused, "This mail shirt is garment worthy of a king, not some hard-scrabble slaver trash like Uvan. And this sorcerous rope! where did such a wonder come from? No one in Crannógmere has ever seen such a thing, this is out of faery stories."

Shortly after searching over the slaver's body, there is a slight disturbance at the sealed entrance to the tomb. As you all turn to see what the source is, the light is temporarily blocked and two figures are framed in shadows cast from the light streaming through the breach. A second or two later the unmistakable voice of Fidach echoes off the walls, "Brule? Is that you?"

(FWIW, the parts of the tomb that you have explored are clear of threats and the way out is secured.)
