This shit looks like a random race generator to me. The sad thing is that Obsidian knows it. Them be shit races for a popamole experience. Fuck that shit. An average DM on any given day could have done better. Piss poor. "Oh we have renaissance blacks, fuck yeah." Herpy derp Bethesda says hi! What a load of shit and lack of creativity. That shit ain't just bad, but actually racist in the way it was clearly predetermined in a dumbfuck manner. Inexcusable.

Stretch Goal Unlocked: teaching players the difference between dapper & pimp.

As for monks, I thought the entire point of them was to allow characters to kick insane amounts of ass by consuming lethal quantities of alcohol?

I'm not sure I like the twist on the HP mechanic. I mean, on the one hand I really do, because it's not traditional HP mechanics. But on the other hand, it will may well end up being a constant reminder to me that just about anything is preferable to traditional HP mechanics.

The Iximatl name and style of dress intrigues me -- Like it's some mishmash of Basque (or Meso-American) language and Carpathian dress, I kind of dig it. It makes me wonder if that valley is meant to be some isolated linguistic refugia (like the Basque region). As for the rest, I can't say I'm in love with their concepts, but at least they're trying to create distinctions between regions so they aren't all samey, generic Western high fantasy stuff ... although the Dyrwood folk seem to have that angle pretty well covered.

English, Spanish, Turkish and Greeks. Got it. What else do they have?

I actually like the clothing concepts since they can expand on them and they're noticeably different. I'm curious how much of this will show up in the initial game though which is set (I think?) in the Dyrwood area. I'm also curious if non-humans will have different clothing types or if they'll just resize it for half-orcs and dwarves in togas, for instance. That's actually one thing that bugs me about a lot of these games - everyone has the same clothes and armour, just resized, usually looking quite dorky in the process.

This is funny how clothing usually sucks in BioWare games, while Obsidian manages to make good looking clothing and armor (NWN 2 and Dungeon Siege 3, for example). It might seem that the opposite should be true, because Obsidian focus its attention on story and dialogue, and they also have much smaller budget, but no, Bio just can't do it right.

Well, every studio has its artists, working separate of everyone else. For whatever reason, Bioware (and I've got to include Blizzard in this too) just happen to have horrible fucking taste and art direction. Although it's much better in Mass Effect than in their medieval games, I noticed.

Yeah, Mass Effect is very tolerable and can even be visually enjoyable and I loved some of the outfits.

Josh Sawyer said:
The Ixamitl are of the Natlan ethnicity, but the clothing is mostly inspired by Albanian and Bulgarian styles. It's true that there are some South American influences, but not all elements of clothing styles in our world are exclusive to a particular region.

"Have you seen those Ixamitl? They have buckety hats. Buckety. Hats."

Oh, see, now I understand why monks set fire to themselves. It’s just a quick way to accumulate wound. Clever.

I like how all their ideas seem to come from third rate d20 splat books. It feels erily similar to the rpg section of my local Barnes and Nobles 10 years ago.
