Project Tamriel and Tamriel Rebuilt are two ongoing projects to expand the size of The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind by adding new landmasses to explore. Tamriel Rebuilt is focused on adding mainland Morrowind, while Project Tamriel seeks to include the other provinces of Tamriel such as Cyrodiil and Skyrim. After many years of development, the two combined offer more than twice the amount of quests provided by the base game, with many new creatures, treasures and places to discover, with more to come in future releases. Currently, the most actively developed mods are Tamriel Rebuilt, Project Cyrodiil, and Skyrim Home of the Nords. Work has begun on the provinces of High Rock and Hammerfell, with planning ongoing for the other provinces.
Both projects use the lore of the Elder Scrolls at the time of Morrowind's release as inspiration when developing new areas, often guided by sources such as the Pocket Guide to the Empire, First Edition. The provinces are attempted to be presented as they were imagined before the release of the later Elder Scrolls titles, Skyrim and Oblivion.
These mods are made to work with whatever version of Morrowind you're using. Download links and preview images are below.
Tamriel Rebuilt
To date, about half of the mainland is playable, with additional in-progress work available for preview. Seek out exciting new adventures in the Telvanni east, the Indoril heartland, and the contentious Aanthirin region.
Skyrim Home of the Nords
100+ quests, including new regional questlines for the Imperial Guilds, bounty hunting, and miscellaneous quests; 290+ exterior cells of hand-crafted landscape; 330+ interior cells, including the massive cities of Karthwasten and Dragonstar, towns, camps, and dozens of locations for you to loot in classic TES fashion.
Province: Cyrodiil
Far to the Western side of Tamriel, the coming Abecean Shores update adds the city of Anvil and its surroundings, as well as an overhaul the island of Stirk.
