By the way i remember having a flight simulator whose manual was a binder with probably hundreds of pages. The pages displayed all the planes of WWI in beautiful "2d" profile drawings.

Can you help me remember what game it was?

I already searched for the simulator genres but nothing like it appeared to be in replacement docs.

It looks like it might be it, but the manual (in gold anyway) isn't the binder. The manual has plane 2d B&W images from the top, the thing i remember from the sides and color. It might just be something that is not the manual, so it wasn't scanned.

That came with some editions of "dawn patrol".

Or, it might have been the "240 pages Pilot's Handbook" that came with Flying Corps.
