Quake + heroes is not a guaranteed bad idea.
I don't think so either. But I don't like the way this one plays, that's fore sure. And yeah it's a trend, Overwatch made some waves and everyone wanted to try it.

Player numbers dwindling to pre mini F2P release and great features like playlists and bots in public games are still kept on new test server.

Finally bought a decent laptop that could run the game.
A couple of essential things that are missing in options:

No raw input for the mouse, wtf?
No crosshair size setting
Can't turn off the irritating red crosshair that flashes when you're hitting someone. It's especially annoying with MG
There are a lack of quality options to lower your settings and get more FPS or visibility. Devs said they want the game to look good on streams and tournaments and as a result it looks and runs almost the same on high and low settings.

They need to get rid of bots in online matches. Playing on a server half filled with bots kinda makes me not want to play at all and I have to constantly check if the guy I just fragged was a bot or a real person.
Ranked play can stay as it is but quick play should just show you server browser with games already going on so you can jump in. It takes few minutes to find FFA game and you can't even control if people vote for instagib or some shit. QL has 10x less players and you can find a game in 2 seconds.

Yesterday all I got was games with 5-6 bots... Not to mention, even when you have 1-2 bots in the game, it's usually slambert or don't hate and ruin your fun because of their useless aimbot.

Game's pretty decent when you get a game with no bots. Desperately needs a game browser though, fuck matchmaking.

Abilities are pretty hit/miss. I've certainly not had shit like the above happen, but there is some bullshit to be had.

When the game goes ftp will probably be impossible to tell the real people from the bots anyway.

Won 8 out of 10 of my placement duel matches and got placed into silver. Now I'm fighting guys that play like bots. Made it from silver 1 too silver 3 but it's a chore to play on this level. Gonna take some matches to get out of there. What ranks are you guys btw?

Silver (-5 according to stats.quake.com) but only played duel cause last few days in eu I was getting 5+ bots in every game (I truly hate the duel format. I enjoy watching tactical games between pros but when I duel I just want to fight non stop not caring about the score and this format totally ruins it). Played 1 game after placement, guy had no clue what planet he was on, quit after first round but somehow I got 15 points. Then next game I gave up at 10 mins in queue...

Ranked duel is supposed to be like you describe though. The more you play the closer games should be. That's why sane games offer non ranked option to all ranked modes, playing to win versus an opponent as good as you IS exhausting.

Yeah, I don't like that wording. Sounds like they're just going to increase the thresholds used to determine if game should be bot filled. When they should just remove playlists and bots from online (and add bots option to custom games).

I don't get why developers are allergic to game browsers now. There's no better way to build community than to actually have one in the game, rather than on some shitty subreddit somewhere.

Because they are not a replacement for automated matchmaking which is the required first step now. They are nice as a bonus when you have a healthy pop, QC is not even remotely there.

Unless you actually mean custom hosted servers in which case the reason is they don't want to give people access to the server (security reasons they say).

It's legitimately Coldsteel the Edgehog tier, reminds me of that shitty DA:I bio of Cole.
He is a ghost in the shadows, walking unnoticed through crowds. He can slit an enemy's throat before they even realize he's there, and slip away, never to be seen again. Those few who do notice him soon forget he ever existed… and Cole isn't certain that he does exist.

They don't help. Most people still choose matchmaking if that's an option. Just look at TF2 and how matchmaking killed off community servers and any sense of community that game had.

We’ll be deploying an update on 05.07.2018 that includes a new map: The Molten Falls, Champion & Weapon Balance Changes, the highly requested Purchasable Player Rename Tokens and additional performance polish. We estimate the update process will take from 7am EDT – 2PM EDT (11AM GMT to 6PM GMT).

- Fixed an issue where enemy Keel grenades were not differentiated from friendly ones

- Fixed an issue where 'Medals' inscription on Duel Scoreboard was hidden if there were no Medals
- Fixed an issue where after the player retrieved their Daily Reward the colorful outline around the reward would switch to the next day’s reward before the animation was complete

Yes, it was even in the beta. I was the first lootbox game I ever played (wasn't aware of this disgrace) You unlock different skins, I'm not sure how does it look like present day.

Post twitter about fixing bots, release patch, change some bot names... still getting 4+ bots most games. Obviously no word about removing bots from online play or the dumbfuck playlists...
