Most of AliceSoft's top talent retired due to them getting old (TADA, Orion) or overworked (Gyokai). Gacha consumed the rest. One division that was making an actual game went rogue and is now a separate company - IMYUIC.

Does it mean it's over?

thankfully Rance was given a proper finale
and I liked Dohna Dohna a lot

IIRC, wasn't IMYUIC supposed to be a publisher for smaller third-party titles too? At least I remember reading that back in the day when it was announced.

I did not like DD at all. Found it to be a huge decline compared to Rance 06, 07 or even Daibanchou big bang age and mamatoto. The style was pretty good but the gameplay? meh.

I find DD to be a nice experimentation on how could a VN feel by using art and music, that retains a decent story, while sacrificing a gameplay. This may be the kind of game that would feel outdated in the future.

Steiner is still working on Rance X, but he also has a Real Job nowadays so it might be another year before he finishes, and then another before MangaGamer jacks it into an actual product.
Doddler posts about working on Rance 03 every once in a while.

it's a cute limited scope Dorkest Dungeon, not a snoozefest gsg like Sengoku. of course it's too superior for certain types.
won't argue with 06 it's my fav game
