What other recent pirate themed games are there besides Risen 2?

None really, unless you count the Monkey Island sequels/special editions from a couple years ago, but in the world of hyperbole two represents an irreversible trend.

a) quest for glory
b) pnp rpgs got split up into combat heavy rpgs and interaction focused adventures during their transition into the digital age, so essentially adventure+rpg = true rpg.

For someone who wants a pirate themed rpg experiance, download and play Tom Proudfoot's "Pirates of the Western Sea" It is now freeware, and it is pretty good to boot.
