It's not just about the bugs, though.

Fallout 3 never got released.

What I'm trying to say is whether the game eventually gets fixed doesn't matter in this particular argument. It may even be fucking amazing in a year or so, but the butthurt over it's state at launch will be completely justified even then.

Reviewing it when it's fixed makes sense only if you review it in its initial state first. Otherwise you're just not being fair to the reader. They released it as a finished, fully priced product after all. I don't think anyone who grabbed the game when it got released would agree that reviewing it before it got fixed was a waste of time. It may be a moot point for anyone who gets it now (assuming it's not still fucked, which it very well might be), but I still feel that it's important to note in a review the state the game was in initially, even if it doesn't affect the final score in any way.

I do agree that, morbid curiosity aside, playing it only makes sense when it gets fixed. If, hypothetically, this gets turned into a good game it'll be a good game released as an incomplete mess, borderline a scam at launch seeing how the release was handled. None of the changes the devs make will invalidate all the criticism their game received for what it was.

I'm all for bringing back the Dumbfuck!! tag for Shrek if it makes him stop posting again.
