I think new Dominions is really the only genuine surprise in that top 10 for me. Makes PREY's inclusion in the 2nd place a positively everyday occurrence.
8.4% of players on Steam finished it.And I wonder how many of these people that "enjoyed" it have actually finished the fucking game just btw
So people who have never played an RPG before? Okay.
Well, at least for those people, there's D:OS 2 and all its fanfiction romance, gay and straight! Progressive!
It's not an RPG if you can't fuck everyone, like in Fallout.
As always, the results are interesting. Thanks felipepepe for organizing it every year.
If anyone is interested, here is the ResetEra thread.
There is much virtue signalling in that thread. People hating on the Codex based probably on a few shitposts here and there. They are welcome to their safe space though, delicate flowers need to protect themselves from all the meanie pants on the Internet.

? Most of the people in that thread are praising the RPG Codex list based on what I see and they are calling one of the best lists of the years. You even have felipepepe posting in the thread without issues.
On other hand, isn't what you are doing yourself virtue signaling?
Persona 5 was the best rpg released this year... It's a shame that it being a console exclusive meant that a lot of codexers didn't play it.
I thought the little blob with the name "unexplored" was some kind of error or infographics jargon I don't care about, doesn't even had a Codex thread, surprised to find it's a real game on steam, I'll take V_K word and try it, top down UW seems like an indie darling material

Jesus christ, you self hating faggots trying to score virtual points are pathetic, romances in DOS2 are less than 1% and completely avoidable. But that's why people enjoyed it clearly.

Having not played Persona 5, I'm not surprised by the pacing part. Persona 3 and 4 are two of the worst-paced widely acclaimed games I know.I played it, both combat and writing(!) are worse than D:OS2. Somehow it manages to have worse pacing as well.
The amount of badly written expository dialogue in Persona 5 almost makes Tides of Numenera look like an action-packed Diablo clone by comparison. I have a hard time believing many would rate it highly even if it was available on PC.Persona 5 was the best rpg released this year... Way to defeat yourself; two instances of cringey whore-sex in a franchise that has been using sex as a cheap joke since Gothic 1 vs. an entire game where every single party member has bisexual romance content. Same exact thing.

>"This fully voiced romance and smooching scene are totally a j-joke we swear"
Also no, there wasn't nothing particularly "jokey" about Gothic 2 "sex" scene in the brothel. They even had used CG for it, iirc.
Combat is more fun, takes less time and isnt as boring as the never-ending encounters of DOS 2, and doesn't have the retarded magic and armor buffer.I played it, both combat and writing(!) are worse than D:OS2. Somehow it manages to have worse pacing as well.

Story is also more enjoyable, the characters are fucking awesome, love my udmurt waifu.
DOS2 is just a more pretentious DOS, still the same shit, just a different flavor.
