I like the fact that everyone is invited for the last stretch party, wasn't kingcomrade in Texas ? :)

I like the style of these guys, the way they handled their campaign and everything. Might noit agree with the music but it is how they envision their game and no one is forced to donate more anyway.

The Most Content on the Most Platforms (at $650k)
Like the port to iPad and Linux, if we hit this goal we'll be able to make the game available on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. The funding will allow us to have additonal developers port the game, leaving us to focus on content development.

And this is going to increase funds or decrease them? I was literally about to pledge until I saw this crap.

God forbid people trying to make money.
I totally loathe consoles, but as long as a game is developed for PC first and foremost, it can be ported to every inferior hardware on earth for all I care.

Is there one of the stat sites/graphs for this like there was for doublefine and wasteland? Wonder how the last announcements gone for funding, close-ish to 600k, be funny if it went down.

Yeah paying Microsoft and Sony fees is what crowdfunding is all about.

100% agree. I'm fine with them porting it to that with their own money, after this comes out for the existing platforms originally stated.

All right then. None of my money will go for console / multiplatform development, only for PC exclusives (Windows, Mac and Linux are equivalent). I want to help the decline to end, not help to bring it to kickstarter.

I can still buy Banner Saga when I see the end result. And hopefully it's not that bad in the end. They are already overfunded by 600% anyway so they really don't need more money.

I posted those concerns on their KS comments page. Let's see how much "drama" the statement causes. :hmmm:

I also reduced my pledge and am contemplating removing it altogether or at least to the minimum $10 tier. I would really hate to do that but I don't want to support consoles, period! iOS is bad enough.

Not that I have anything against Stoic or Banner Saga. I even like their art style (really much), and I still like them to succeed, even if they go to consoles.

But wouldn't it be funny if a project gets funded and the team makes these videos how happy they are, and then the pledges are cancelled and evaporate on the last day.
Ah, that moment of butthurt would make history. Therefore, in the future I will always make my pledge early on, so I have the power to retract it later.

:troll:

Apart the usual issues with consoles, they should first think about making the game, and every penny helps, sending the message that they could now start working on other platforms is a suicide, it' s the same as saying all right, now we have enough money to think about something else.

Sorry if I'm being a ignorant dumbfuck, but... do you really pay them to develop games on their platforms? I mean... really?!
No joke.
To develop for Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, or PlayStation 3 requires an SDK license fee of between US$2,000 and $10,000, in addition to yearly developer fees and profit cuts, although development for Xbox Live Indie Games only requires a $99/year Creators Club membership and Microsoft takes 30% of sales.

Thank you for opening my eyes. One more reason to hate consoles.

It's kind of loathsome that they put something at 700k worth pledging for while sticking a totally shitastic use of money at 650k... Hopefully they come to their senses and switch it around so people can still pledge for something actually worthwhile.

Nice bait and switch job. I didn't donate to this, but I definitely would not have if they said they were going to make it a shit console game as well.

Regardless of what anyone says, there are compromises and corners that have to be cut to get a game working on something like XBox. The way kickstarter campaigns work, people seem to be more likely to donate to things that are already doing well, so it's a pretty cool tactic to make your game look like something it's not at first, and pull a surprise buttsex at the end and say "we're going to milk it for all its worth and put it on consoles!"

Once it's funded 600% it doesn't matter if the relatively small number of purists all pull out their donations. They've already served their purpose in drumming up attention to it and getting it to 600% in the first place. Protip: it will come out for XBLA regardless of whether or not they hit their arbitrary goal.

Yeah, I ended up just cancelling mine as well. It's really too bad as I love the art direction. I can always get it when it comes out. At least then we can get a better sense of what, if any, impact the move to consoles has.

The fact that the interface must be designed for a controller device is enough for me to pass on funding. I don't doubt the game can be good regardless, but out of principle I can't support the idea. I will support the game by buying it, if it's good, instead.

I cancelled my pledge as well. They can take that console shit and shove it up their ass.
