The purpose of steam curating is not to make an ideological statement but to help people find games to buy and play. So a good action-rpg like Dark Souls belongs on the list, and a boring fully-fledged RPG like Dragon Age: Origins does not.

If RPG Codex doesn't focus on rpg's why have a list at all? You will end up with a bunch of lists that contain exactly the same games with minor differences. What's the point ?

I haven't actually played Dark Souls yet, so I'm just going by hearsay when I said it's "good".. Buy I was unable to finish DAO because the story and combat was so mindnumbingly boring, it's just a plain bad game.

Problem with annual vote is some games would fall off because assumption they would not or the opposite, we always have the same static list. I see no reason to why ever kick out Fallout or PS:T and people would either not vote because assumption everyone else would or everyone would because it would drop off the top.

One way to handle it would be voting to include a game on the list with placement being up to vote or simply score assignment but if vote/score assignment that would mean every single entry on the list would have to be voted for or score assignment to prevent shenanigans.

What's wrong with going along the Codex list? There's names attached to each vote, it's completely transparent and obviously represents what the Codex stands for. And it's not a personal thing for me, as I missed that vote because I was gone most of that month.

It makes sense to add a few newer games that were released after that list obviously.

Taking games like The Witcher off the list sounds just like being afraid of some vocal detractors. And no, I'm not Polish.
