Games good for a indie title. Its similar to diablo and divine divinity built with iron man in mind. No player run is going to be exactly the same due to the iron man nature of the game. I made my guy a tank allowed me to survive a lot of close calls. There are random events that happen in the game world like a rare merchant selling underworld quality gear appearing in a town for a short time. I bought underworld quality elven sword and divine quality shield really boosted my guys power. Technically I could of never had the gold if I didn't decide to loot a cursed sword or died to monsters. The rng ironman portion has been a rewarding thrill so far. There are mercenaries you can hire in town similiar to diablo 2 I would of died to a giant monster if my merc wasnt there to die for me. Games a little more fun then drova but I'm biased, enjoy diablo divine divinity gameplay more then gothic.

Seems content complete. Anyway a flying balrog monster met my guy in the plains and demanding I give up my divine shield or he destroy me. I said fuck you I'm not going to listen to a control freak that happens to be flying giant carbon dioxide monster. We had a epic duel where I was very slowly whittling him down using my class abilities best I could the divine shield helped somewhat migrate his magic balrog fire spray. He was slowly winning however cause he happened to be level 67 while my dude was in his teens lol. After 2 minutes or so I was down to my shitty potions which are useless and thought I was going die but I managed to get him low enough where the balrog ran way saying we will meet again. He has fast movement speed still makes me wonder if its possible to kill him while he running if I had good enough boots to keep up.

My guy received a massive boost to his bravery stat fighting high level enemy which powered up my bravery scaling skills now where they are really strong. Also two random traits from the fight underdog trait and broken leg. The game does a good job scratching that old school diablo sacred dungeon siege arpg mixed with divinite divinity itch.

Anyone checking out the DLC? I was waiting for it before I went ahead and bought the game for the "complete" experience, but am interested in impressions if anyone has some they're willing to share.

If I remember correctly, you can kill him in 2 ways.

Brute force which you have to do a lot of grind and getting him to spawn. The other is a trick you can figure out if you get something

Impossible to kill him without a special named sword found in demon infested ruins near the library on the beach.

I haven't gone to the new area yet, but the shrines and God devotions are cool. The new classes are OP af. I've got a build that's so far just straight whatever the dual wielding Order one is called and it's just deleting everything so far even if occasionally I need to run for cooldowns or to thin out a horde.

Tried the game, got 4 crashes in 5 minutes and a black screen. Apparently the issue comes from me having an old pc with 8gb of ram and saving the game on a hdd because apparently "the game is large".

This is some serious potato coding here because visually speaking the game shouldn't be demanding.

Game is still a indie title it does demand absurd amount of pc specs for how ugly it looks. Also too ez after early game when you start getting more good gear and crafting stat potions. Its a good time waster for gamers waiting till path of exile 2 gets more fleshed out.

This game is absurdly good, Ive been missing out.
It's a shame it came out right at the end of the year, I think it could've had a strong finish in the GOTY here but it only had 4 votes and 3 of them were troll 1/5 to all game votes so it finished near bottom lol

Yeah, I thought itd be a shitty diablolike, sort of pirated it on a whim but wasnt too set on playing it, so I looked the review up. Spent all morning playing, so Ill be buying it.

Playing a berserker/beast bane dual class, and its looking pretty good. Berserker gives you true damage x the amount of times you hit an enemy in 6 seconds, and dual wielding gives you 2-3 hits per swing, so damage racks up very fast. I am having an issue surviving though, havent died yet, but already got the trait "underdog".
Game is great, I love it when systems respond to the player and arent solely commanded by him.

Did you happen to pirate the version with the brand new DLC that just released last week? If not, you might want to halt your playthrough quickly to get it.

Also, the base game and the DLC are both on sale right now. $20 for both in the US.

Ill be starting a new playthrough and going to be buying both, yeah. Not sure if the pirated version has it, it probably does.

Any recommendations or should I just feel my way around?

I'm actually just starting it sometime in the next couple days myself, so we're both in the same boat. I was waiting for the DLC to come out before I dug in.

The Beastbane dual wielder is part of the DLC. Probably best playing blind, and you're meant to leave the Ironman mode on.

Other than that, my latest incarnation is using the same combination you were talking about and imo it's OP as fuck. I've been thinking about suiciding it just to start something that isn't basically an immortal blender.

Patch v6.4.0 – Major Class Balance Update and More
Class Skill Updates
We’ve reviewed player feedback from both veterans and newcomers to identify class imbalances.

As you probably know, in the game, you can mix up to four classes from the 15 available. The question isn’t just about which class is strong on its own, but rather which ones are worth committing to in order to find skills that synergize with others from different classes.

With this in mind, our goal with the patch was not simply to buff some numbers, we actually added new skills to struggling classes to make them more interesting.

Among around 30 class updates, we are introducing 12 new passive skills and 1 new active skill.

Fire and Ice mages received the most attention as they really struggled in mid-to-late-game, but 14 out of 15 classes received some updates. Full details and our reasoning can be found in the thread here.

Achievements Rework
Most achievements can now be earned outside of Ironman mode.
Why? A part of playerbase felt restricted by Ironman-only achievements, so we made a compromise:
- 86 achievements are now available in all modes, including one for reaching any ending.
- 5 achievements remain exclusive to Ironman for reaching all five endings on ironman.

For 100% completionists, the challenge remains almost as difficult as before, but now all players can feel rewarded.

Item Updates
Underperforming items received buffs, there are new options for lifesteal.
Item Critical chance now scales with weapon quality to make it more attractive.

Clarity Improvements
20+ passive skills that require specific conditions (e.g., night-based or weapon-based) now display buff icons when full condition is met.
This way, if you're unsure whether a poleaxe counts for spear or axe buffs, you can always check the buff icon in the lower right corner.

Fixes & Optimizations
Since the expansion’s release, we've pushed 120+ updates, including bug fixes, QoL changes, and performance improvements.
We are at a point where all reported major issues have been resolved, and we are now primarily addressing low-priority issues and some QoL requests.

6.2.4-6.35 Expansion patch notes are here: [https://steamcommunity.com/app/2004640/discussions/0/591759986609142727/]link]
6.4.0 Full Class update patch notes are here: [https://steamcommunity.com/app/2004640/discussions/0/591762021826965009/]link]

If you have any comments or questions about the updates, feel free to post them here or in one of these threads.

Wiki, New Difficulty Settings, and Game Fixes
Wiki
Over the past 10 days, we've been working on the game's wiki page, which you can find here:
https://svarogsdream.wiki.gg/wiki/Svarog%27s_Dream_Wiki

It’s an open wiki, meaning anyone with an account on that site can contribute, improve, or expand it.

We dumped a bunch of game data, including a list of all items, quests, and more. Feel free to check it out!

Experimental Insane Difficulty
We've also introduced an experimental feature: "Insane Difficulty." This is a challenging mode where, on top of increased difficulty, you must choose one of the following curses:
A) Enemies grow stronger over time.
B) Enemies grow stronger as you grow stronger.

You can pick only one of the two. This feature is optional, disabled by default, and can be toggled on or off at any time during gameplay.

We’re not entirely sure if this implementation of Insane Difficulty is the best fit, so give it a try! If the feedback isn’t positive, we’ll consider removing it.
If the feedback is positive, we will keep it as an optional, disabled-by-default feature.

Additionally, Patch v6.4.5 is now live! Along with this new difficulty mode, it includes over 20 QoL updates and fixes:

Enemies growing stronger over time definitely sounds preferable to the second option, which is just level-scaling. I think a better option than both would be tuning up the static difficulty across the board, rather than it being in any way adaptive. Which is of course always the best way to handle difficulty in an open world RPG, or really any RPG in general.
