If the game is only 1/10th of what it promises to be I'll still buy it, making it the first indie title I've ever owned.
What the fuck does it promise that you only hope for 1/10th?

Cure for cancer?

Sometimes I think you guys are retarded. You act like you dont know the game will be good.
Even I don't know if the game is going to be good.

Not sure if you're being serious here. You don't have a feeling about it one way or the other at this (I assume) late stage?

What profits?

I guess the correct way to phrase it would be: "Doubt he loathes the paycheck of mediocrity."

The price of the Super Limited Collector's Edition of AoD, Vince.....how much?

....because I have to go to work this summer to raise the money for supporting your crusade against the RPGs aimed only for combat approach, without any fucking dialectical approach! :salute:

I have a feeling that I like it (especially the last build), which isn't enough to proclaim that it's definitely gonna be good.

Don't know why people are hating on the how they handle 'magic' -- seems to fit within the atmosphere of the game. Definitely buying it... not the collector's edition, though~

I'd strongly suggest to:

- get the demo, see if you like it
- if no, post an angry message on our forums, if yes, be a bro and buy the digital version for $25 to support us
- if you absolutely love it and simply must have the box to express you love properly (the box comes with a proper hole and some lube), then spend another $25 to upgrade your purchase to collector's edition.

Another doubt: do you ship also to Italy?

If you enjoyed the game you'll be happy to know the designer wrote a related 500+ page novel called Elemental: Destiny's Embers.

Explain it better, please...
If you're referring to AoD it's "a low magic, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, inspired by the fall of the Roman Empire."

So caesar's legion won and power armor is seen as magical.
"Imperial Power armor - The finest pre-War armor, fashioned from tempered blue steel. With raw Power harnessed from other planes, it augments its wearer's natural abilities and even generates a protective shield to slow down incoming blows."

Hey, I'm fooled as long as the mystical words of the ritual's mantra aren't "Initiate power armor fusion sequence".

Have a hard time believing he'd have no say in Obsidian's slam-dunk approach to pitching and developing.
Obsidian (and thus Chris) is a subcontractor, aka a piper, and as we all know, he who pays the piper calls the tune. Pitching? Remember Troika's unsuccessful attempts to pitch their post-apoc game to a publisher?

Troika's death was tragic and in no small part responsible for obsidian always keeping more than one egg in the cooker at a time. Yet I don't see how learning from that mistake and playing it safe with cheap and fast slam-dunk sequels makes one worthy of praise as some sort of artist who'd starve in order to make a masterpiece but is being held back by Obsidian.

There's a long way to go from pitching the sort of project that has a chance of getting funded to developing a mediocre game. As co-owner and chief creative officer of an AAA rpg shop he's in a far better position to exert his influence on the games he works on than other writers/designers are. This is probably as good as it gets.

Yeah, I heard about the book.
But did you read it? Is it a worth buying?

Precisely for this reason I have spoken about "idea of Magic" in that way...
For me the choice to implement it in a way different from the "traditional fantasy RPG" is a good thing in a world such as Age of Decadence...

I can't wait to buy the unboxed version. :D

That said, this + Grim Dawn looks great, and it's a shame I sold my PC, because now I'm operating on a tiny netbook, and it probably will not play the next gen, which I figured to be all shooters anyway. Yeah, that includes Grim Dawn. AoD, probably.
