FINE I'll buy your stoopid coupler in the interests of not triggering that bug a second time ugh
:x:x:x

Don't ever negotiate with the terrorists! We should have killed him as many times as it would take!

Let's go repair since we seem to be LARPing a giant pussy.

53KM isn't that far away at all, it turns out. I can already see the camp
on the opposite side of the mountain!

As always, driving through the valley gives us better mileage then
driving over the mountain.

We've reached the camp!

Investigate the wrecks, check for the survivors, kill everyone, loot everything. Standard procedure.

D'awww, I was hoping you goons would get attacked or somesuch.

VhUEnNq.png

Anddd welcome to the camp. Sadly there is no option to shoot up the place.

Repairing our stuff costs us parts!

A full repair of everything costs us 50 parts, leaving us with 154 parts leftover -
enough to make one major purchase.

Oh, and this is the Taunter. It uses up a yellow utility
equipment slot that could otherwise mount something useful.

xpH8zQz.png

We could turn it into 20 parts if you goons are inclined to do so.

V4cJgAF.png

Let's see what the store has to offer.

sDwd5tp.png

W6u096n.png

OOHHHH

It even comes with a shield! Weapons sold separately though.

This would give us a full set of four escort vehicles. However, there's a solid chance we will acquire at least one vehicle in our adventures across the wasteland. I guess we could dump one of the junkboat starter vehicles in that case.

Arming it would be...tricky...with our current budget. We could always shuffle equipment around, and I am sure we will be able to acquire additional weapons elsewhere...

If you guys choose to buy Hard Cat here, then I'll have to make an entirely new post as we decide what equipment to shuffle around.

Alternatively, that 120 parts could instead go towards buying a monstrously oversized laser

GExRiqS.png

Or we could buy a melee weapon.

PzIv7Fq.png

I haven't shown you ramming yet. I'm waiting to see if a specific piece of hardware shows up
before I start ramming other cars.

...But before we buy anything, let's look at what equipment we already have!

Oh wow no wonder why Frawley ripped apart those raiders so fast

Grease Bag has a light machine gun, a second, empty weapons mount, but no utility mount.

Red equipment is generally weapons, yellow is generally not-weapons. White is convoy-only.

KnMlpS7.png

gGoFAhb.png

Rock Chopper has a 60mm Cannon; basically a crummy version of the 60mm autocannons Frawley has.

pUzdCq4.png

Alternatively, we could spend parts on upgrading our existing vehicles.

First upgrade costs 10 parts, second costs twenty, third costs 30, forth costs 40, and so on...

There are five categories: Health, Armor, Handling, Range, and Mine Guard.

Each vehicle has different upgrade limits.
Note that Frawley already has good range even without a further upgrade.
Our other two vehicles have a really crummy attack range that is limiting our damage output.

The way I see it you goons have four options for what to buy:

1. Hard Cat.
2. Heavy Beam Laser.
3. Vehicle Upgrades.
4. Save for later. Seriously, we might run into an event that requests parts from us immediately after leaving

Contrary to what the junkyard guy said earlier, no, it appears you can not scrap entire vehicles :(

I like the looks of that laser, but I am wondering if it would not be a good idea to upgrade the range instead.
Maybe both?

The laser is 120 scrap. Getting the first range upgrade for all three vehicles is 30 parts total. We can do both, yes.
Just buy the laser and we'll figure out what to do with the leftover parts.

Bear in mind we might run into an event that wants us to forfeit parts at some point. Sometimes to actual gain.

I vote that we purchase Hard Cat.

Laser for more shootan! And a range upgrade for the truck with the laser. We can skip range upgrade for the lighter hitters for now.

Notoriously oversized weaponry is where it's at. Las0r all the way!

And upgrade something from the remaining budget, if there would be anything left.

The votes are in. You goons wanted the laser, so the laser you shall have!

8QJbQ8x.png

Now, who gets the laser exactly? Whatever vehicle is carrying the thing will draw a lot of aggro.

also what do we do with the taunter. It draws aggro and eats up a utility slot that could instead be used for something useful. We also already have something good at drawing aggro: The heavy laser.

Grease Bag has a empty weapons mount but no utility mount for the taunter.

u0TnvT3.png

Rock Chopper has only a single weapon mount and a utility mount.
The cannon it currently carries could easily be reassigned to another vehicle.

TjInaKC.png

Frawley isn't really a suitable candidate for the heavy laser. Those twin autocannons are already very powerful.
He has a empty utility mount, though!

Or we can just sell the taunter. Its use is dangerous and it's not worth carrying around.

Grease Bag and Rock Chopper have equal stats? Put in on Grease Bag, then.

What happens with aggro if we put the taunter on Frawley and the laser on Grease Bag? Frawley is more sturdy, surely drawing aggro to it would be more logical?

I would imagine that the enemies would probably ignore Rock Chopper entirely - a single cannon is easier to ignore then twin autocannons or machinegun+huge laser

Frawley already draws a lot of aggro as is because of those twin autocannons.

I'd say hang onto it unless selling it would let us buy something useful. Maybe we'll be able to afford shields/armor later and turn something into a damage sink.

You goons wanted to use the taunter instead of scraping it. Fine, fine.

IlneKKq.png

Despite having the exact same stats as Grease Bag, Rock Chopper is more durable
because that single gun slot draws less aggro. Hopefully giving Rock Chopper
the heavy laser will help spread out damage taken a bit more evenly.

Grease Bag can have Rock Chopper's old cannon.

qjAwSHJ.png

10 of our parts go towards upgrading Frawley's already good range
for better time-on-target.

ILoguiS.png

Wait no wrong upgrade fffff

Thankfully, I haven't pressed the 'confirm' button yet! Let's right click
the upgrade handling thing to remove that and upgrade range instead.

Better.

9AwJEpG.png

Rock Chopper also receives a range boost.

ICcjNiI.png

Know what the 1# cause of game overs in this game is? The main vehicle
running out of hitpoints.

The last 10 parts goes towards making that less likely.

UtdUTlm.png

With repairs complete, it is time to hit the road again.

The Stem Bolt Monopoly lies 62KM north.
The Booster-hoarding goofball is 231 KM northeast.
The Ethanol Chemist is 366 KM northeast
The Milkbar is 303 KM north of here.

...I love the game's roadmap-interpretation of driving around a wasteland.

Where to?

The trip to the Stembolt Monopoly is short and uneventful.

YpJa2TG.png

Wow this is wayyy out in the middle of nowhere even by wasteland standards
this is the edge of the map right here

Say, how bloodthirsty do you guys feel today?
