Fallout's politics were appropriate to a post-apocalyptic wasteland and its references were historic (1950s to 1980s nuclear scare era). No current year political themes were inserted. New Vegas is the most political of the Fallout games due to its focus on inter-factional conflict but it doesn't tell the player which of the factions is "right". Even Caesar's Legion can be joined and is presented as a valid choice for a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

VtMB had contemporary political references, but there it was appropriate because it's set in a contemporary urban fantasy setting. But even then, those politics weren't a major focus of the story - there were anarchs, but the game wasn't about anarchy vs government or anything like that. Instead it focused on political action rather than political theory: LaCroix vs Camarilla vs Anarchs vs Kuei-Jin, etc. Power struggles between people and institutions, rather than ideological shitflinging.

Arcanum's political references were all taken from 19th century issues and conspiracy theories, and therefore completely appropriate for a steampunk fantasy RPG. Not a single modern political issue was raised in Arcanum, it was all about issues that fit into the industrial revolution setting. Treatment of factory workers, the replacement of monarchies with republics, the rise of rich capitalists overtaking traditional nobility in wealth, the impact of industrialization on the environment, etc. The political issues presented in Arcanum would fit right into a Charles Dickens novel.

None of these games shoehorned political moralizing into their stories. None of these games virtue signaled with their woke opinions. They weren't "political" in the way modern SJW-made games are.

You even had a *gasp* black woman (with a very tumblr haircut) presented as arrogant, bigoted and all-around unpleasant character the game actively encouraged you to put in her place and humiliate at every opportunity.

And yes, while Fallout 2 dropped the ball in how they depicted the Enclave, especially considering how much more nuanced the Master in FO1 was, New Vegas goes out of its way to make a point that all factions get something right and there's a reason why people support them.

And the game very much avoids screeching about Western imperialism or other such retarded issues that dominate any depiction of 18th century Europe in the current year +5.

if you don't understand the difference between woke politics in games that is poorly written and often not even making sense (even ruining the atmosphere/lore instead of adding to it) and there only for the company to virtue signal and games with politics as a well written theme for the story, then i don't know what to say.

The problem with politics in games is not the existence of politics, but using said politics to push some sort of developer/publisher real-life agenda (Bloodlines 2 is a perfect example of this), instead of using the in-game politics as the part of world building that has little to do with the actual real-life politics.

The only reason traditional forums are "next" is because so many of them run on ancient software and often old payment plans that makes operational costs 1k per year like the case of the Watch. Codex, too, by the way. When I told DU about it, he went into full denial and made up a bunch of bullshit on the spot to justify the expenses. He's not a very rational chap. But as long as he's got the spare money, the codex will be fine.

Maxie grew up in England so he learned English and Polish at the same time, hence the British (not Polish) accent when speaking English. More dual language than ESL.
