I play the newest Sacred Gold, and it's still boring. But I think it's better than Diablo. I like the skill trees (if you can call them that, they're not very tree-like). I like trying the spells, and I like collecting up the best equipment.

It's an okay game if you're into that looting & leveling aspect. I am, but it only sustains me so much. At a point, I get hungry for some real dialogue, for some way to branch my character meaningfully. And that's where Sacred starts to stumble.

The game is great to play with my kids. We just ignore the dialogues and kill everything. The game is actually more interesting that way, because part of my game becomes strategy on how to keep them alive.

I got so bored with Diablo II in Act 3 that I just h4x0r3d my character and finished it in about an hour, just to see the end. Does Sacred really offer anything different?

What?? You played it for the story? :P

The fun in D2 is playing different char builds and developing ways of dealing with the different creatures & combinations thereof, in the different layouts of the areas. Oh, and teamwork. :D

Oh, and LOOT, LOOT baby!!

Sacred is the best action-RPG out there. It has a humongous world with a buttload of interesting things to see and do. The character system is neat, and I know a lot of people complained about the droppable skills but it's not that bad. You can take skills that you can't use and go to a combo master and exchange them for your classes' skills so it's not like you're getting something completely worthless. Also, the dwarf utterly rocks.

Collect All doesn't work in multiplayer.
