Sword in my hand,
Axe on my side.
Valhall awaits me,
When I die.
Bear skin on my back,
Wolf jaw on my head.
Valhall awaits me
When I'm dead.

That must be the Valhall with a whisky hall instead of a mead hall.

Of all the epic X-Large user-made maps for HoMM 3 I've played Unleashing the Bloodthirsty is the most brutal one so far. I've had to use tactics I've never used before, like using the Jewish Dwarven Treasuries to get enough gold to buy all the troops accumulating (mostly by events), blocking the castle gate when attacking (I normally consider this cheating) and casting Earthquake when defending to destroy turrets and thus prevent activating Blinded enemy stacks.

This battle against the Angry Samoan seems to be winnable only by blocking the castle gate and casting Blind on each enemy stack in turn, and then dealing with them in earnest, taking advantage of the AI's reluctance to cast Cure on its own Blinded stacks. If the enemy is allowed to rush out (he's got both Expert Haste and Prayer) he wipes out most of my troops in one turn.

In the end I lost 2000 Grand Elves and all the Devils, 'cause I didn't have spell points left to Resurrect them. I missed Intelligence (and Fire Magic+Berserker), but you can't choose your skills in this map, which is one way of making it harder.

So, if you want a really challenging, epic map to sink your teeth into, this is it. Unlike nearly all other XL epics I've played it doesn't get too easy after a while.

Heavy Rain

I have really mixed feelings regarding this new old title. Fahrenheit had a horrible ending, but the beginning was good for a game with such a simple mechanics, and it really felt fresh. The story divided into small bits with characters, that aren't developed in a satisfying manner, with an incoherent plot and a very basic gameplay. There are multiple endings (bad as well, but you need to try really hard to achieve them), but it really feels like a game for a one playthrough. Oh, and even if you have a good main theme for your game, don't overuse it, because it start feeling comical hearing it all the time even is some small scenes. Also, David Cage is a dirty man, and Jacqui Ainsley was good choice for a female protagonist.

Looks amazing, what's the gameplay like in Rage2? I played the first one and got kinda bored.

It's a good, flawed FPS. The combat is some good stuff, nothing crazy or revolutionary, almost feels like a proto-Doom Eternal in some ways. Since it is open-world, it ends up with some of the typical trappings of the design, but manages to be just varied enough to keep you going. Story is barebones, tho.

Everyone in Shady Sands turned hostile towards me because I refused to risk my life to save Tandi without first knowing how much they'd pay me.

Kinda retarded design decision if you ask me.
