I really liked it. The isometric graphics with 3d characters worked nicely. The music is fantastic, even on it's own I can't stop listening to it. The character system worked well, I went with Street Samurai for first playthrough to "feel" the game. No voice acting and pure text with good writing. Too bad that this campaign has got almost entirely the main quest and nothing more. Waiting for enhanced Dragonfall now, from the opinions on codex I can already smell the huge incline.

The only Sacred that not suck, must mention.
I tried it about three times and always gave up after few hours, though.

Dragonfall is much better, though I will admit I didn't finish it yet (I am quite close though). Pretty good plot and Berlin is a very cool setting, more C&C, more proper shadowrunning.

Another middling stealth game, featuring a cameo by the Dirlewanger Brigade :o I had to check online to make sure I hadn't fucked up and gotten the worst ending, but apparently that's the default. C'est la vie. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to interpret it as being the delusions of a morphine addict or what. But seriously, DAS ASS
The forced shooting sections turned the game from mediocre at best to fucking terrible. All the game had going for it was atmosphere.

Front Mission 2 - The End

Final mission is one huge trolling attempt by the bad guys.
Not only they plan to launch the WW4:

But also kill our fags while they're at it:

:what:

This mission is supposed to be the most difficult and complex in the entire game. And it probably is.
Time limit (2x40 turns), another "super-wanzer", huge number of enemies:

The environment makes "playing it safe" difficult:

And there are some nasty surprises at the end:

A "survive through X turns" segment:

Unfortunately, our fags were able to kill everyone already:

So, after another ololo attempt (second "survive next 5 rounds" part)

It's time for us to do some trollin':

So, our fags stopped the evil Illuminati conspiracy!

Anyway, the game is over 60hrs of (mostly) pure, 1997, TB goodness...

It's very interesting to play Hellgate: London after playing Borderlands. Mechanically speaking, they are pretty much the same game, Hellgate even does some stuff better... but the way the game is presented, how it speaks to the players, that's the biggest gap. That's what made one a success and the other a forgotten failure.

I'm thinking about making a thread about this, or something like that...

Biggest difference between them is that Hellgate had the potential to be good, while Borderlands didn't.
