Jedi Knight game with the worst saber combat

Is this game still very atmospheric? Is there still astrong sense of menace in certain levels, for example?
Why yes, walking along the ledges of Nar Shaddaa, infiltrating imperial compounds and meeting Kell Dragons in pitch darkness is still great. There's a ton of verticality in the level design that's really neat and the audio design is still fantastic.

So I hadn't played Oblivion in years and decided to check out some current mods especially for visuals. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Modders put so much work put into such a shit game but it's quite nice looking after tweaking some.

I'm a couple years late on discovering this but some wonderful bastard fixed Medieval Total War. No more ctd hell making it finally playable on modern hardware. This is awesome, still the best Total War game by far.

I haven't played the earlier ones.
Ah okay. Well if you enjoy Risk or board games in general and you don't mind playing in 4:3, then I'd say MTW 1 is very much worth playing. I find all the newer TW games clunky to deal with and the AI seems to agree. In the earlier games, you can simply drag and drop your armies around, no pointless animations or bullshit. Plus they're much easier to keep track of.

Ok, so it's mainly convenience...

It makes a big difference to the playability of games involving large empries. Moving around individual agents every turn is incredibly tedious in later games. The main benefit to the Risk-map, however, is simply that the AI actually understands how to utilize it, more or less. Even today TW games never quite fixed the issues introduced by moving to the 3d map in R1. I wouldn't go back myself, but there are definite benefits.

Finished REmake HD in Jill's campaign, no interest in replaying the game with the slightly different story that Chris experiences. As I mentioned in the REhd thread, the "gorgeous" 2d backgrounds remade in 2002 are seriously showing their age. I assume the original assets were lost or never rendered at a higher resolution, because the 2D art has simply been upscaled to 1080p or w/e :decline: And quite frankly, I don't particularly miss fixed camera angles in survival horror anymore.

Shogun was better than Medieval. They were both great, but I though Shogun had better gameplay, especially when it came to options.
I might be wrong, though. I haven't played those in 5+ years.

Your first time?

Playing Contracts? Nah, I'd say at least my fourth. It's grown on me though. I remember not caring much for Contracts when it first came out, because I was dissapointed that so many of the levels were simply remade ones from Codename 47, but now I'd say, it's probably my favorite out of the series.

Looks like I am not missing out on much. Looks like a boring walking simulator.
