What in the fuck? What fucking game am I missing playing?

It's the Game of Thrones RPG: http://store.steampowered.com/app/208730/
Good for what it is. It features an innovative™ combat system (though it appears a majority of people tend to hate it) and the story is kinda interesting. The story is totally separate from the Books/Series, but there are some "guest appearances" from known characters. Also minor C&C.

More like SURPRISINGLY good for what it is! It's a crime how poorly this reviewed compared to Bioware's games. A CRIME I SAY. I'm possibly overselling it a bit since it is an action RPG (In the Alpha Brotocol sense, not in the Diablo sense) but it's a very nice one. It also features offscreen rape, onscreen rape attempts, rape and murder of a nun, torture of the PC, torture by the PC, chopping a woman's head off and fucking her neck stump, heart eating, pig-trickery, a chance to kill an unarmed defenseless woman in revenge, the chance to stab many peasants in the back of the neck with a knife, no romances and only a bromance, and absolutely no sex scenes. :bounce:

I hope Cyanide keeps making RPGs. They're popamole RPGs but they're a damn sight better than the ones Bioware puts out in writing, storytelling, and gameplay mechanics (Which isn't saying a hell of a lot, but hey (The exception being when Bioware's using a pre-existing RPG system like AD&D or D20. Bioware cannot into RPG design by themselves however if you look at Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and KotOR are fantastic by comparison)).

I liked the story until that NOOOOOOO moment from Mors, It was so silly that I coldn't take the story seriously anymore and gave up, after all that Brotherhood non-sense on Alistair path, the story gets better, did I missed something?

You'd have to specify which NOOOOOOOOOO moment, since he has a couple of them and they were all pretty dumb. Generally the scenes they were in weren't too bad, but having Mors scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOO at the heavens was dopey. Though even by the first NOOOOOO the story should've picked up decently. If it's not appealing to you by that point I doubt it would change your mind much later.

An almost identical portrait to that one (facial paint an all) is available in Eye of the Beholder 3.

Multi-headed Cow if you enjoyed the Game of Thrones RPG that much you might want to look into Of Orcs and Men: http://store.steampowered.com/app/216910/ also from Cyanide, probably by the same people that made GoT, it also features the same combat and dialogue system.
Yup. I've already bought it and have it sitting on Steam waiting to be played. Probably won't jump on it IMMEDIATELY after Game of Thrones but I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Mad hermit from Dark Dong: Shattered Ass

He's the Visionary and he predicts Doom. "Do you not hear the thundering footfalls of approaching Doom?". Dark Sun was released about three months before Doom.
I tought it was a bit funny.

And of course, "thundering footfalls" made me think of the Cyber Demon.

Of Orcs and Men is a far cry short of a Game of Thrones; entirely linear maps with some divergence for purposes of stealth whittling down enemies. The only choice in the game is choosing how fast you begin combat/kill character during dialog at end of linear corridors and a choice between 2 different class upgrades around the third quarter of the game. The only consequence from your choices in the game are different achievements, sigh.

The story and main characters are alright but npc's are few and far between; usually there are 3-5 npcs (one merchant to buy/sell/upgrade gear) per hub per chapter and to make matters worse none of them are anything to write home about. All maps follow the same formula, even optional areas, linear corridor with maybe a small fork which converges back together in 10 feet>side branch with a few enemies and a loot container>end boss conversation>fight>map over.

It is a shame, the whole non-human premise and characters were decent but the game really falls far short of its pedigree; I hope this was more a result of it being developed by spider using the game of thrones engine (*edit it is not even the same engine yet it is really similar, must have switched from UE to sony's one to save money or something) in cooperation with cyanide and not the result of Cyanide embracing the decline as well.

TL/DR Of Orcs and Men does not hold a candle to Game of Thrones, if you are really interested in getting it wait until it is ~10 dollars or less.

Both GoT and Of Orcs and Men are equally shitty hack n slashes. Typical XBox action fodder.
Equally excellent hack n slashes you mean. It's ok Skyway, I understand. I'm here for you.

To reiterate the are both not equally excellent, GoT is a very good game and OOaM is not plain and simple. Orcs does not have much choice at all, hell it does not even have an allusion to choice, no consequences, maps rarely contain sidequests/secondary objectives; really the only thing that qualifies it as an rpg is that numbers get bigger. The combat is poorer than GoT and there is a whole hell of a lot more of it and yet the game is shorter in length. In essence the game is lacking all the substance that made GoT as good as it was.

In short I think would be fair to call Of Orcs and Men Final Fantasy XII with shittier combat.

I really hope that, if they make a sequel, they choose to leave Spiders out of it and develop in house because Cyanide can write good stories and develop better locations and gameplay.

Little fun game, providing some lulz from time to time.

i am alive is a deep and meaningful allegory about growing up and no longer playing with toys told through the lens of a post apocalyptic setting, oh and it's also sexist because you carry a little girl around, the latest story by rock paper shotgun.jpg
