Vital enemy plans!

The briefing guy is great, he has a similar level of gravitas as the one from Dawn of War.

So earth is wasted after WW3 and the only place to go is space, unfortunately space is filled with anime.

Two main heroes meting aliens, exploring planets and fighting a greater evil.

Dungeons with some puzzles and alot of grinding.

It had to be a dragon-planet.

So it has 30 min cinematics, alot of grinding and a real time arena combat, but its an easy game to drop and come back to later on.

Sadly the great worm gods did not bless me with aquatic sheep last night so I had to perform my magic with this regular super sheep.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
After hearing that Duke Nukem : Total Meltdown, which is a PSX version of Duke3d with extra episode "Plug 'N' Pray" I had to try it.
There are six normal levels, plus one secret.

It all starts with Nightmare Zone, and I was surprised that the difficulty was higher than in the original episodes. Playing it with the gamepad would be impossible for me. The player needs to keep attention to not miss pressing any button that enables any progress. The new assault troopers / captains in blue uniforms are nothing more than a cosmetic change. Although when shooting them with the pistol I think I had to use more ammo on them. There are also new pig cops versions - pig queens as I call them, and pig zombies in later map. Nightmare Zone is like a level made for veterans of Duke who like a challenge (I've played on Come Get Some which is a highest difficulty available) - overall I felt that monsters are more deadly than in dos version.

Second map - Trackside Tragedy is simply awesome. We start cleaning a couple of rooms and after that we can run through a racing track. The numbers of enemies is big and it's best to kill systematically everything to avoid quick death. It would be a great deathmatch map for bigger group of players.

Third map - Gates Motel. Wow, I didn't see that coming. We are in a motel clearly inspired by Shining and other horror classics. There is a lot of hidden secrets, and the mansion is really big. It's like a missing level from Blood, very refined and clever when it comes to putting the players life on edge.

Fourth map - Duke Royale. A great tribute to Quentin Tarantino and his early movies like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. I thought that earlier I had a hard time to survive but this one takes the cake. Lots of nasty monster traps and there is a lot of Assault Commanders which will kill you fast with their rocket launchers.

Map number five - Alien Rendezvous. Smooth map, not big or complicated. It would be perfect for the second original episode of Duke3d. We can move from here to a secret level, which is not hard to accomplish.

Map number six (secret) - Faces of Death. Oh boy. We've got seven Battlelords to kill in a small location. There are also various portraits of people from 3D Realms as a member of space mission. The exit is hidden here and hard to find for a first time (hint: invisible wall).

Map number seven - Ministry of Fear. Another great map. This time we are in some disco club, where we meet strange looking aliens who won't attack us at all. Lots of enemies on the floor to dance with and we have a showdown with CyberKeef - the final boss. The best weapon of choice here are Devastators. The guy really has a lot of health and can quickly kill us. After he makes the entrance and there is a huge explosion it is best to move through the hole to that location. There are some goodies and we aren't so easy to kill for him.

Overall, great episode. As I've never played the PSX version, I was surprised how good the music is. I need to replay the original episodes as well to see what I've been missing.

The only mission with "C" rating is the first "Story Mission" from January, when I still sucked and didn't know that you can't repeat those (at least during first playthrough). :(
Same as in VC1, Scouts dominate the field:

It looks like there are still some achievements to unlock:

Verdict:

Started in October '17, main story finished in March '18.

One of the best tactical games ever made, :5/5: , can't stop just nao. :obviously:
