Exactly my point. Any relationship/sexytime in games is always lame and contrived in the first place. This political correctness nonsense that you have to cater to every taste/religion/fetish is just making it more and more absurd. Now you have to provide buttsex, blue aliensex, covered-facesex, lesbiansex, "tasteful" rapesex etc etc.

People spend so much time worrying about what is meant as a small and insignificant distraction in the game that they completely forget it's supposed to be an RPG and not a dating sim where you LARP all of your furfag fantasies. I'm seriously beginning to think that when Skyrim comes out, there will be mods that let you "romance" the dragons. That's if it's not included in the base game already.

Whitewashing Dragon Age

People having issues because Hawke is white in the demo. That article made me LOL because the funny factor is compounded by Mike Laidlaw usual retardation quoted within the article:

“We saw a lot of people disengaging at hour one, hour two [...] You get to an RPG and fire it up, and it hits you in the face with a thousand stats. Those stats are very cool, but you may not be mentally or emotionally prepared to deal with them as your first thing to do in the game.”

Plus, the writer's mad about the whithewashing of DA because in the demo, Hawke was white and you could'n change his/her skin color:

And, apparently, the way people perceive the Hero of Kirkwall is as a white man or white woman, regardless of their actual ethnicity. Granted, this could make for a very interesting plot device should BioWare wish to use Dragon Age 2 to challenge this assumption in game, but unfortunately the demo makes no sign of doing anything of the sort.

Why choose to present a legendary version of the main character, and their entire family as potentially whitewashed versions of themselves, without challenging or questioning it? Will this depiction of the Caucasian Hawke of legend appear in the full version of the game?

There's nothing inherently wrong with having your character be in a relationship, the problem with romances is the awkward teenage-level minigame-conversations that sometimes end with terribly animated sex, and the fancreeps who demand that.

Don't be soo jealous... Besides, I see “sex/relationships thingy” as deus ex machina of quests/possible C&C bits/etc. Today somewhat flawed implementation, doesn't mean whole thingy is bad... thingy.

Of course, if you find those “homo/feminism/bike-riders/masons/they stole our women/socialist” motives offworldy offending at all, then even solid game mechanism doesn't convince you, because of very political/view of life reasons... but then, don't like communism, why bother to read collected works of L.E.M...

Their implementation is usually several magnitudes worse than the rest of the game. With the general shitty RPG standards, that means they will inevitably send the overall quality of the game crashing down.
