Maybe they'll do that in HBS'... 14th Shadowrun game. :troll:

Not really what i mentioned, but my favourite mission, the APEX, is quite close to that.

The way i remember i played it. SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW

Two characters in each side of the matrix area, in order to quickly redirect the turrets or re-re-hack the terminal that were re-hacked by the enemies. Those had to be stationed in those two separate rooms to avoid the programs in the matrix to respawn (the programs respawn each time you leave, then re-enter an area of that matrix). But if the two matrix characters can prevent programs from respawning, they still have to fight the hackers the hackers from the organization that defend the APEX.

In the meat world, you have to put at least one members of the team on each side to support the turrets and defend the access to the mainframe AND the secondary terminals that are in other room, while having a mobile member to support each of them, depending of the level of threat. Also, everyone should be able to quickly get back in the main room, in case an enemy manage to enter it and attack the mainframe and the bodies of the guy who is in the Matrix.

Amongs the enemies, you have some huge behemoth, and some humans enemies that can disable all your action points.

It really feel like that everything is happenning at the same time, and that each member of your squad isn't allowed to fail. IMO this is one of the finest example of things that couldn't happen or wouldn't feel as great in a real time game.
There are other mission in DMS and DF that exploit well the TB combat system, but here is one of the finest example, which deserve much praise.

Shadowrun for Genesis (which still kicks the shit out of these corridor-shootan tablet versions)

I liked some things about the Genesis version but it was grindy as hell, and combat is basically jamming down the shoot button. The open world design was pretty cool, but the actual gameplay kind of sucks - doing the same mindless repeating fedex missions (literally take package from random place A to random place B) or ghoul killing missions (go into ghoul building, jam fire until you are about to die, leave) until you save enough money to travel to interesting places was pretty boring.

It's nice of them to tackle the barebones matrix, but since it is almost always optional, I'd rather see skill system improvements. They proud themselves on having a classless system that invites experimentation and yet you are forced to dump all your karma in one specific stat tree. In Dragonfall you have to choose between different abilities for companions. Would be nice if they introduced similar choice for player characters, making chars using same skills more distinct. That would help replayability immensily. Also, I feel that if they increased early karma gains, but spread the active abilities little further down the skill tree, we'd see more hybrid builds early-mid game.

dragonfall was a good representation of the spirit of shadowrun but it's a poor reflection on the depth and complexity of shadowrun 4a and shadowrun 5 character creation and development, which is a shame.

They really have to change the social etiquette system. Every time you choose what etiquette you get next it feels like a damn lottery. For example in dragonfall you don't get to use a "shadowrunner" etiquette even once. Not cool.

There wasn't to begin with in the release version but it was patched in (and there might've been more added in the DC?).

That there are no Shadowrunner etiquette checks in Dragonfall (non Directors Cut). There are, they were patched in.

I've still yet to throw my $50 in the Codex fund. I'll do it in the next few days. Anyone else yet to donate that plans on it?

Security and Corporate did always feel like the most useful ones. Additional etiquettes did seem very expensive to me for frequently minimal gain.

It's almost like a group of runners who are constantly trying to defeat security measures instituted by corporations would figure that out.
