Really looking forward to this one. I enjoyed their vertical slice demo. I'm hoping that the gameplay is a bit deeper storywise though than that. ;)
Yea the verticale slice demo was awesome and unexpected back then.
I have noticed they like better to release few big/very interesting updates instead of plenty of mildly interesting ones.
HBS is very quiet meanwhile (like when they release the first concept arts, then the unexpected gameplay video or later the matrix updates)
Maybe they are working on a big mind blowing update and, as usual, play it under the radar until it's not finished (let me dream hehe).
Also I think that with kickstarter games the "hype" can be way closer to the release date, it's not like anyone interested doesn't know about it already.

Come on, that's like 50k people. Surely they want to sell more in the initial phase, so they should start pushing out some PR shticks right about now. I also have the feeling they will delay it for a month or two, just to have some time for marketing it properly. I'd say they have time till mid-end August, because from September there will be flood of blockbusters (as every year).

It's not getting delayed, they literally don't have the money to work on it beyond this month. :M

They're not hyping it because they're all too busy crunching.

I hope this rush to release doesn't mean it will ship a bug ridden mess, tho i suspect otherwise. Imagine having to redownload the game every couple of days will they patch and hotfix.

In related news, has anyone else received such a mail?

Hello!

Thank you for pre-ordering Shadowrun Returns from the HBS website. Since we are nearing the launch of the game later this month, we wanted to confirm that we have a record of your purchase and also share some information with you.

In the next couple weeks, we will be sending out invites to all pre-order customers with a link to the HBS Account Website along with the log in and password to your account. When the game is released, this is where you will find your Steam Key along with the digital soundtrack and anthology if you purchased the Deluxe Edition.

If you purchased the Collector's Edition, when you get the invite please sign in right away to provide your shipping information so we know where to send your physical goods. You can expect those to arrive a few weeks after the game is released, depending on where you are in the world.

Pre-orders are Steam-only, i.e. only Kickstarter backers get a DRM-free version? Well, bugger all.

I pre-ordered and didn't get anything. OTOH they contacted me ~2 weeks ago if I wanted to switch my USB stick (CE) for a T-shirt + hardcover book, so I assume they haven't forgotten my order.

Also, one of the early access backers created the Alpha mission in "reverse" (ie. you play the mage + guards to fend off the shadowrunners) and made a video LP of it. It shows off some of the editor's capabilities, and also some more gameplay (e.g. you can see that overwatch mode is directional unlike nu-XCOM).

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I backed it and didn't get any email. Should I despair? I got the $60 tier, so I should be getting lots of stuff.

Got my pre-order email. Now only hoping the game is good despite the DRM-shenanigans.

And I don't know if it has been already mentioned somewhere, but can you or can you not import your own portraits in this game? Because I vaguely remembered something like that being said somewhere.

I always use custom portraits if possible, so a major disappointment if that's the case.

Why should you be getting an e-mail informing you that later this month you will receive another e-mail with your account login data, when you have already received your account login data?

Reading comprehension fail.

This is for pre-orderers (mail). I'm a backer.

If it turns out it's shit, I'll never give them money again. But judging from the vid it should be pretty good. Just hoping it won't be too simplistic and popamole.

I got my e-mail. I had almost forgotten this game was coming out so soon. Suddenly I can't wait.

I backed it and didn't get any email. Should I despair? I got the $60 tier, so I should be getting lots of stuff.
Also note that it takes time to send out e-mails en masse. Depending on their configuration it could be 500 e-mails per hour, for instance. That means if they have to send 1 million e-mails, it could take weeks.

Once somebody posted the full text of the email, I think it was one that I got back in April. I thought this was something else I was supposed to get.
