Not that I know of. I guess only prestigious gaming media outlets such as GamerGirlsRadio get that.

Ha!

And to incite more rage in you GD-losers out there, and to paraphrase HP Lovecraft, the reviewer is a negress.

My kind of person.

How long before someone makes an Aliens RPG with the editor? But I guess there would need to be a way to only render mobs that are in your field of view to keep the level of tension where it needed to be.

So does RPG Codex already have its review copy? :)

It does :)

Unfortunately, that's about all we're at liberty to say at the moment.
oh, cool.
I expect a "high profile" RPG like this will receive more than one review though. The best codex reviews are usually written weeks if not months after release.

Aw I wanted to gloat about how she'd be getting her black hands all over Shadowrun Returns before all the Codex whiteys. Guess I'll have to content myself with most of 'em.

Furthermore :smug:

well I hope this game is good but I don't have high expectations. Whenever sites get review copies and their reviews are embargoed until after release it is never a good sign. Whenever a company knows they have a good game on their hands they let the reviews out early. embargoed reviews only mean the game is bad....

In this case, they might be legitimately afraid of people freaking out over the fact that it's not a "full featured RPG" (and I don't mean that in the Vault Dweller sense) rather than accepting the game for what it is.

Review: "No stealth, no looting, no saving, 6/10"

You should be rooting for Cyberpunk against Shadowrun because it was created by a black guy. On the other hand, he's working with CD Projekt... what a dilemma.

I wouldn't trust random people to review a CRPG after playing for half an hour either.

Ideally they'll both be fun.

I have no doubt Cyberpunk will have real saving, looting, and possibly even stealth systems since they can continue to improve on that rudimentary stuff they put into Witcher 2 in certain spots.

"it's a quasi-RPG. it feels incomplete. it lacks world persistence and incentives for deeper player involvement. just a few basic features would have made it a lot better, but... it's good for what it is. 9/10"

So have you guys sent it to Darth Roxor already?

Indeed :)

These kinds of review copies are a new thing. We've never had them until recently. We still write to our reviewers that Quality > Rapidity though. There's no rush for us to get the review out, and Roxor knows this. But then so do you :P

Absolutely. What I meant is that the best reviews are often published long after the release. Almost like retrospective reviews.
This has little relevance to us getting a review copy though, so I dunno why I brought it up. I guess it's just that we're a little unique in that we don't necessarily publish a single definite review (unlike major media outlets or bloggers). Instead we can publish any take on a game we deem interesting enough.
I expect Eternity to receive a numerous reviews, for instance.

Oh, I absolutely agree that our retrospective reviews are great. In fact they're some of my favourite reviews of anything.

As apposed to "It Does :(" ???? Can you confirm?

Darth Roxor is our reviewer. Though they sent the e-mail to me, I succeeded at my Will saving throw to install it and sent it to Roxor instantly. You gotta wait until his review for detailed info though ;)

take IGN for example. Anygame that they review before it is released gets AT LEAST an 8.0. Just today an early review for pikmin 3, 8.8.

I learned to dislike detailed review.
Too many spoilers or highlighting defaults you won't notice, or at least much less if you did not knew them.
Now i liked short review that go straight to the point : combat quite good but repetitive and a bit unbalanced instead of detailed information about which attributes or skills are overpowered.
It wasted all the fun of playing the game.
And i strongly disagree you need a lot of time to know if a game is good or not.
After playing 2/3 hours 90% of the time know that, what you don't know if it's a masterpiece, very good or just good.

I would like to hear detailed explanations about the charsystem, rulesystem in general and combat. Are the encounters good, how is the writing, how long is it, how do partymembers function, how much does it feel like Shadowrun, comparisons to the Genesis and SNES games, how much different gear is available, economy... What I don't like to read about are plot details.
