That UI looks terrible. Why can't they just have all the skills in a nice row to the left? Must the fuck-huge picture of that constellation take up the whole page?

There's one less magic school, too (Mysticism). Funny that no one of you MW fanboys noticed that yet.

Or maybe it's because we've already known that for awhile now, thanks to an interview that got posted during the first Skyrim info dump. "Mysticism? You're already doing magic!" Derp.

It's either THAT or they copy LOTR and call it Dragon Ag.. err..

Anyways, like I said before, I haven't played a single game where Dragons have been fun or presented as remotely interesting (usually, "wise all knowing dragons who talk" or "talking dragons who kill to rull teh world"). They don't even look cool thanks to low poly design copied by one artist from another. Generic "ancient evil" for your game if you can't think of something better.

In fact, these days one can judge the degree of retardation of a game just by looking at the inventory screen.

And looking at that "thing" above I would not even even call that an interface any more.

This, for example, is an interface:

or this:

or this:

and this is a screen saver with a little information on the bottom:

wat?

There's still ham fisted level scaling... I don't see why "journalists" and "gaymers" insist on lapping up Fallout 3's level scaling system, it was only marginally less pervasive than Oblivion's. I guess it's cause they're all retards or something...

- I saw a dragon the other day
<a dragon appears and starts setting the citizens to fire>
- Horrible creatures. I avoid them whenever I c... <NPC dies>
<First NPC stares at the corpse>
- Stop right there, criminal scum!

Also, did they just call combat in Oblivion poor or am I reading too much into it?

Well, the "logic" is: 1) It's made by Bethpizda 2) Bethpizda is commonly considered a RPG making company 3) Ergo, whatever Bethpizda makes is a RPG 4) It haz dragonz!

Seriously, does anybody make single-player games and announce them with "more skills, more item types, more playstyle choices" anymore? Everything is "simpler, easier, more forgiving, welcoming"... :sigh: If this is the future, I'll take vanilla.

You level around twice as quickly as in The game is less daunting than Oblivion, and each time you level up, you can choose a perk single unique improvement to your character.

And as the conflict reaches crisis point the writers run out of ideas, the dragons show up

Dragon Shouts are three-word phrases, uttered in the dragon tongue, which function as powerful MOAR spells.

Skyim is much more freeform: you have two hands :retarded:

Skyrim’s is more energetic and fast (A)WESOME

So bows everything in Skyrim are is balanced like sniper rifles awesome RPG-like games, such as Call of Duty

kyrim’s [skill] system is much simpler and more forgiving. We can't stress this enough; the game is not as daunting as Oblivion.

This game will be another instant AAAAAAA+++++ epic classic, BROs  Can't wait to play it :bro:

It's a lie anyway, it's not simpler, it's about the same in terms of difficulty and a lot less retarded.

Other than the possible removal of attributes Skyrim's character system appears to be miles above morrowind and oblivion's. I'll wait for the release before I declare it better than daggerfall and arena's.

Jaesun. I have a slightly offtopic comment. Please don't use just italics to quote what the reviewer/developer/whatever said. Because, in this case, is a Azraelian big wall of text, and is kinda difficult to read it when is all in oblique font.

Why don't you write the text as a quote instead? I think that it would help with the readability.

Thanks.

Manly hugs and brofist.
You’re nobody – a prisoner rotting in a cell for some unnamed crime. That’s true at the start of every main Elder Scrolls game.
Maybe my memory is a bit rusty but didn't you start Daggerfall as the friend of that emporer guy doing the whole main quest as a favor for him?
i know the normal reaction for me is to shit on everything, but this part, even if clumsily executed, is a definite incline. all crpg quests are linear; this is a small step towards random world generation.

If you’ve already explored the cave complex that would normally be the setting for a sidequest you get later on, the game will secretly change the setting to a dungeon you haven’t been to yet. Conversely, the target of an assassination quest might be picked from the characters you’ve spent most time with, rather than a perfect stranger, to make the decision to kill them more interesting.

Damn, that's... moronic.

I think it just links to another explorable dungeon that you haven't seen, but wouldn't that then make THAT dungeon familiar when you eventually come across it?

No, they just have quests take place in a random dungeon. If the one the random generator picks was one you went to already, it picks another. They did the same thing in arena/daggerfall actually.
