If you want to spend IRL money buy the retail disc. You can get it at the likes of Best Buy and Target, or just order it off of amazon. Basically for $20 you get 20 champs, 10$ of in game credit, and some runes.

I've been playing as Veilor and honestly he kinda sucks. He has a finnicky stun and then a really weak nuke. I guess he's more of a support hero.

You mean Veigar? Hes a late game antimage. Most powerful caster in the game. Farm ability power with Q, and combo e-w-q-r people. Or w-e-q if youre pro.

Boots, catalyst, tear for starting items and pick flash/ignite for summoner spells.

The reason I just can't play Dota or Hon any more is because of how frustrating it is when you lose. Most of the time it is due to one or two total dipshits on your team who have no idea what they're doing.

I play play Quake or Starcraft or whatever and lose and still have fun, but not Dota or Hon. If you are on the losing team there's normally a zero chance of a comeback and you can't leave. We are going to farm you for stats and fountain camp, don't leave or you're banned forever.

And typically in HoN if you call forfeit it's the worst player on your team who wants to stay. It's just so rarely any fun.

edit- you also can't pick heroes you like. if you are playing in a public game, you have to pick a semicarry like mirana or slardar or whatever. you can't play shadow priest, even if that is your favorite hero. you can't play sand king if you aren't sure of how competent your team is, even if you absolutely love him.

I feel your pain. This is why I need to take lots of breaks or else I go nuts. There are rarely any middle ground matches where both teams are even. It's either your team sucks completely, or the enemys team sucks.

Speaking of championships -- LoL was just made a featured game at Intel Extreme Masters alongside Starcraft 2 and Counterstrike. On top of that WCG also named LoL an official title for their next series. In response, HoN hosts a tourney with a cool $1500 prize pool. (No zeroes missing. One thousand, five hundred). And they keep claiming their game has a better competitive scene.

If casting is your thing, the little girl Annie costs about 1.1k Influence Points, is easy to play, and is top tier.

Otherwise, of the current free heroes, Ashe is another great character and is fairly easy to use. Akali, Singed, and Shen are also pretty decent.

If you're confused why the champs have changed, they rotate out each week, usually Tuesday.

deathfires grasp + stun/all nukes combo can kill p much anything in a few secs. If you play well, using his first move and stacking with a mejajs, endgame can turn out to be p lulzy. 1000ap watup

If casting is your thing, the little girl Annie costs about 1.1k Influence Points, is easy to play, and is top tier.

O god.. Mah bear Tibbers. The horror. Definately the scariest nuke-mage in the game at the moment. Only reason to play Veig is the awesome Baron von Veigar skin.


On a slightly different topic, I was playing Morgana in ranked earlier. Had a shit team who wanted to farm jungle creeps instead of pushing towers. So after I got 20 stax on mejai and were cruising at a sweet 800AP, I built Lich bane.

Noone expects Morgana to autoattack you for ~900, followed by Dark Binding for ~1300, followed by another autoattack for ~900. I could 2-shot inhibitors.

Of course, anyone can perform well in pubs provided your team isn't retarded and you're skilled.

How much gold/baleful strike kills does it take to reach that AP? Also stacking Mejajs is very risky especially with Veiger being so squishy. (And any competent team will target someone with a stacked snowball item first)

Meanwhile annie can just cast 5 spells, stun with Q on single target, or AoE stun with Tibbers, and kill almost anyone with much less gold/farm.

That's not even mentioning the other good casters like Malz, Brand, Swain, Aniva, Karthus, Vlad (more of a tank-caster), etc.

Hes an anti-mage, his job is to whoop your AP heavy ass. I like to play him but you need a good team or a lane mate that keeps them at distance, like Alistar,Janna etc. Otherwise I go tank Veigar, Banshees, Frozen heart, Rylais and just annoy and harras with W-E till I got the hat. Then comes the PAIN.
But hes not that easy to play and glass-canon build needs more play experience.

Mundo and Morde are good for some noob whooping. Good damage, hard to kill.

Actually that's exactly when it means something, since if you don't know how to play him then it's all pilot error by default and there's no way to judge a hero's power.

I know exactly how to play Silencer, for example, but he's always going to be a crap hero unless he's changed and I'll always do better with a different hero.

Played a team that was pretty much single handedly carried by Morgana and her shield. That fucking shield needs to be toned down, Riot may have went a bit over board with the buffs this patch. Poisons and dots dont proc either if a person is shielded. Fucking what.

Against Morgana wait for shield to fade away or focus another enemy. Silence or stun her when she ults, or just flash away. Her shield only blocks magic damage and CC so you can auto-attack her instead. Dont run around like a chicken when she does her thing and she got loooong cooldowns so theres shitload of time to beat her down. Best tactic is baiting, make her waste her abilities and then bring the pain. Jax is a good counter, for example. Jump in and smash. Or Olaf.

KC, Im good with several champs that are seen as low tier and I still beat even good players with their high tier champs. Its all about the team setup.

Poisons and dots do proc off the shield bro. It's just that they deal magic damage, so the shield absorbs it.

The shield lasts 5 seconds. You can either hit it with a high-power magic nuke to pop it (a transfusion + tides of blood, a veigar Q or a brand pillar + a poke should be enough to pop it unless Morg has a shitton of AP) or wait it out. I've been playing Morg more or less as my main choice since closed beta. If you think shield is bad now, you should've seen when it blocked debuffs as well and lasted for 12 seconds. (A 40% CDR morg could then perma-shield her carry). Black shield in its current incarnation is a strong, character-defining skill. Much like blitzcranks Grab, Anivias Wall or poppys heroic. Charge. It's a spell that rewards the player for good timing/placement, but can be countered somewhat by intelligent play.

What morg really needs is for her pool to apply its MR reduction instantly instead of over 5 seconds. (Like how Nasus'es spirit fire is an instant armor reduction). Its current mechanics are built around the time when her Dark Binding was a damage over time spell. Since her spells has extremely long cooldowns, she can't really benefit from the MR reduction unless an enemy actually stands still for 5 seconds in her pool. If pool became a magic damage steroid for her instead, she would be able to keep pace with the other popular casters in the late game. (Where she's currently hardcountered by banshees veil since she's heavily reliant on her CC).
