I wish people would stop trolling me with crap champions, such as FUCKING AP YI.

His rework can't come soon enough. I wonder what these guys will play then. "OMG AP YI NERFED WELL BACK TO TEEMO MID I GUESS"

AP Yi is awesome, he's situational but when he can't be stopped, he carries your whole team and makes you look like noobs. Don't forget that Alex Ich used him to great effect at IPL5, there's nothing wrong with him.

Wow people on EUW forums are pisses as hell.

People on EUW - formerly EU run by GOA have a history of having to suffer way more server problems than any of the other regions. Partly because we have about twice as many players as the second-largest server.

If you combine this with the fact that we also have about 5% of the red activity as NA and that we can go for weeks with unstable servers with no official response as to why, it is understandable that people feel like they're being treated unfairly.

The IP boost is insult to injury when you consider Korea recently got a super-rare skin for equivalent instability over half the period of EUW. And back in the day when both NA and EU had really wonky servers for a week, NA was given 1k RP while EU got a 4-win IP boost on the same day.

I know, I play on EUW as well. I don't really give a shit about skins and IP boosts but the way they are treating the community tells a lot about the company. This might not be a good thing in the long run. Sure, some people will quit, others will come back after 3-4 days, etc but the shit will just pile more and more.

edit: Any thoughts on Dota 2? Is it a serious alternative to LoL? Or Smite maybe ?

I've been playing a bit of Dota 2 again. The more I play the more I learn its differences, it's quite exciting and I do recommend it. It's actually funny trying to bring the LoL experience and seeing how it falls flat on its face or how it's unwisely rejected. For example, the laning phase seems to be a lot less important, and as such people are worse at it. But they are better at roaming. There's also hilariously OP stuff that makes the game fun, and it somehow doesn't feel out of place or that it needs to be removed.

I watched this match just yesterday where a team had a hero called "Tiny" that was ridiculously fed. Tiny is known for being super strong when fed, except the opposing team had a guy named Tinker that wasn't doing too badly himself. This Tinker, his ultimate is that the cooldown on all his abilities and items goes down to 1 second, and he had teleport boots (that teleports anywhere on the map), hex dagger (that works like a 5 sec Lulu pixie) and some burst damage staff. That tinker was so broken spamming his abilities, it was the equivalent of having a champion in LoL with 0 second summoners, and it was enough to stage a 20k gold deficit comeback.

I *think* that was an earlier (and much cooler) idea that they were considering, but that the current plan is for.him to be able to combine two augments instead, with new staff/laser color to reflect the combination.

Took a break from LoL to play DotA 2 as well and I quite like it. I wouldn't say it's worse or better than LoL, just different. I don't get why all the raging fanboy nerds feel that it is necessary to prove that one of these games is objectively better than the other on forums but whatever floats their boat.

What I like about DotA 2 is that 90% of its heroes seem so OP that if you would transfer them over to LoL they would be placed on the very top of the broken OP scale. 20 second cooldown map wide teleport spells, 3-4 second stuns or other disables, 500% critical damage chances, 6 second cooldown blinks which jump you across the entire screen and other such stuff are so common-place in DotA despite sounding so absurd, but the thing is, when almost every hero is so ridiculously over the top, the game seems quite balanced, because when almost every hero is OP the result is that no one is OP.

I also love that some heroes have some very interesting mechanics that I haven't seen in LoL. For example one guy's ult makes permanent copies of him which can all use the same skills and have a portion of the original's stats, so you end up controlling and microing a small army instead of one guy; there's a mage that steals and stores spells cast by other heroes; there's a zombie that can burrow inside creeps or allied heroes and then burst out unexpectedly for an ambush, which created many possibilities for fun plays and etc.

Lol too has 3 second disables, the really crazy stuff is like Silencer's ult, global 6/7S silence (the same guy also has a 5S silence spell). 500% crit chance, eh, like stacking Phantom Dancers? What's over 100% crit chance gonna do? Anyway DotA2 is different enough that I can enjoy it too, just don't have the time to actually practice two games. It's a nice change of pace though when you get too fed up with morons picking AP Yi. YAY I GET TO KILL STEAL EVERYTHING FROM MY TEAM LIKE DARIUS BUT UNLIKE DARIUS I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE TO CONTRIBUTE BUT I WON MY LANE YOUR FAULT NOOBS FOR HOPING I'D PICK SOMETHING USEFUL WITH ANY CC OR DAMAGE

OMG

This looks broken as FUCK

You know what that means. Next patch, "Viktor damage nerfed across the board". But the ideas look like something Viktor needs, the numbers obviously aren't final and need some toning, I mean giving somebody access to so much extra %mpen would just make Mres meaningless against them when they also build Void Staff, I mean I sort of get the idea behing it but it'll just turn out to be "Viktor is fed, let's buy more HP because nothing else does fucking anything". But ideas I like are making the augments closer in terms of AP gained, giving him option for longer ranged poke and more upfront burst on his ult, giving him a reasonable defensive option to build (although it still looks like clearly the weakest), improving his utility as the league of mobility has made his Gravity Field too easily ignored and 0.5s silence doesn't do anything except disrupt channeling, a rare mechanic.

Well in lol the longest hard disables are Rammus' taunt and Fiddlesticks' fear which last for 3 sec and re single target, while the longest multi target disable is I think Veigar's prison which is around 2.5 secs. In DotA 2-3 sec AOE disables are the norm and some heroes have even longer ones.

About the 500% crit damage I meant not a 500% chance to do a crit but some X% chance to do a critical strike for 500% damage.

Ashe arrow goes up to 3.5s stun at 2800+ range.

So I got my alternate account to 30 to prove to certain bros that I'm not a horrible troll. Done my placements and - seeing as how I was supporting in 30% of them, and some here doubt that you can effectively carry the game playing as a support, so here's my findings.

Went well. Sometimes it felt like I was surrounded by imbeciles, but you need to keep your head down, your spirits up, and try to only troll the opposition. You carry yourself, it's what you have to do. I mean, if I can get straight to Gold from placement matches...

Trolling is in your blood, phoenix-chan. It is pointless to resist.
Dat Nid, right? About as mad as you got from the next set of games, and that's with much fewer gibs :M

And to be honest, if you allow a Zeus, Silencer and Nature's Prophet to get Scepter and Refresher each, then you deserve that TPK every 120 seconds. That clip had a strange effect on me, way too amusing

Me: "Eh, nothing's working for me today. I guess I'll go watch TV after this game."

You: "O MAN YOU SO MAD!"

I'd say there are about half a dozen degrees of butthurt between me conceding I'm not going to carry a game and a Nidalee going "FUCK YOU SYNDRA YOU FUCKING CUNT! I HATE YOU! GO FUCK YOURSELF! YOU ARE SO BAD!"
