:mhd: coming to PBE which should mean it's going live soonish. D1P. Was about to say that I've taken it easy on the impulse shopping, then I remembered that I got the Lucian bundle. :M

I'll probably pick him up. Riot releases 2 midlaners in a row? Say it ain't so. I'll barf if I see another overworked ADC anytime soon though.

He's good after countless nerfs? Impressive.

He was my most played champ before nerfs started rolling in. To think support used to be my main position.

He's lulzy against a full ad team, which is pretty common these days since people started putting Riven and Yasou mid every other game.

He has a horrible lvl 1-2 I find but yeah still good. You can't go wrong with a guaranteed stun.

Really? Everyone seems to think it was a massive nerf, he's got no sticking power now, cant duel someone when they can just walk away from you whenever they want.

I feel those people are missing the slow, idk I got a wits end as my 3rd non-boot item and after that the slow was pretty much always up in a fight. Plus with his w i really dont have trouble staying on. I'll play more to give a second opinion to my....opinion.

It was a huge nerf to everything but his ult really. That slow isn't so great and it's a skillshot with long CD.

That you can't Flash his ult is huge though, it makes it the giant fuck you button it once was.

I had a spin with Vel'Koz in the PBE and the early verdict is in, what a dumb broken champion. Just the way that Riot likes to design new champions these days I guess.

Five abilities that each do damage, including a passive that does true damage, what a surprise that he's a high damage monster! Oh sure, everything he has is a "skill" shot but we're not talking about Brand here, we're not talking about 700 range slow as fuck projectiles that can't penetrate the creep line. Vel'Koz's spells are 900+ range that go through everything. His W has 2 charges, because hey Vi is such a fun champion to go up against so he can cast W twice in 2 seconds. Face-rolling on the keyboard = outplayed. His E is a bit easy to dodge, but again puts the pressure on his enemies to dodge everything or die instantly and lose the game. His Q is his staple because of a low cooldown but it's weird since it doesn't go through creeps and splits off at 90 degrees, I predict no one will care about it. All his abilities get lower cooldown as you level them, naturally, and his autoattacks are tentacle slaps.

And finally his ult, oh god his ult, it's hilariously broken. 1500 range laser that goes through EVERYTHING for 2.5 secs and that has such a dumb high base damage that a full laser almost kills a squishy, without any AP whatsoever. And it's not like he puts himself "in danger", his ult has twice the range of a Brand ult. Hell it takes 4 seconds just to walk from the edge of his ult to where Vel'Koz is if you're some meaty bruiser, better hope you have 2 gap closers to interrupt him. Let's keep comparing his ultimate to other champs, slightly lower damage than a Fiddlesticks ultimate in the same 2.5 seconds, a very good hit box so it's essentially AOE, no channeling time and all from the comfort of your own home. All without any AP, in fact AP doesn't even matter that much when he's all about landing and stacking as many abilities as fast as possible and triggering his passive. I can see him built as an AP bruiser, 40% cooldowns, survivability and still wreck teamfights. I wonder how much he can slow when you combine his 70% Q slow and Rylai's. Vel'Koz overall just like Yasuo and Jinx IMO puts such heavy pressure on his enemies to dodge everything, remember his cooldowns and not die instantly that he will be the same terror as they are in soloque.

In short, he looks fun as hell if I played mid and really annoying to go up against. I just hope the next champion is a jungler so I can enjoy some of this.

Straight out of bronze, niggas! :M

Almost fucked myself over after two straight wins in promo series by playing Grungle for the first time ever. Actually got off to a great start and was something like 3-0-4 before the derp overtook me and the rest of the team. Then a Leona game that ruined my nice four win streak with her. At least that one can be blamed on retard trammates.

Last game was intense. Second pick calls jungle. First pick wants top and locks in Mundo. Then second pick obviously had a change of heart and locks in Garen instead and calls top. After a lot of fighting Mundo agrees to jungle. The guy clearly doesn't know how to jungle and dies to creeps first clear. Their Lee smells blood and starts hunting Mundo in his own jungle with great success. Meanwhile my support Kayle gets caught a few times giving easy kills to Ezreal. Lots of flaming in chat. I try to keep my cool and get as much farm on Cait as possible. Their are two silver linings though. LeBlanc gets some kills on their Ziggs (but has abysmal CS, even by LB standards) but our Garen is absolutely crushing their Xin. Lots of derping back and forth, people getting caught, bad engages, etc. Finally we win it. I have the least deaths and highest CS by far on either team, while Garen had something obscene like 23 kills (and double digital deaths). Bronze is p. fun.

Welp, my provisional matches are done. Lost my first six only to win my last four. Should've lost the last one too since we lost most teamfights, though our Talon went apeshit on turrets and we won, while our team was aced because minions and map awareness op. Had a fun game as Lux where it felt like my ult could not miss.

So now I'm bronze 2. Pretty mad about that being that Seasons 2 and 3 I was Silver but whatever, it won't be hard to climb out.

(loljk, ELO hell might be a thing.)

Based on my brief adventures in Bronze, I'd say that it's quite easy to climb out as long as you perform consistently. The games that went sour for me were often the games where I tried something different. Naturally you can't win every game, regardless of how well you play and Bronze is a mix of players who had "bad luck" in placement matches and those who are just plain bad. In other words, stick to your comfort champs and roles as long as they work for you. Don't flame and try to keep your team focused on objectives and winning rather than chasing kills and you will climb out of Tartarus. GLHF.

Addendum: Two things players in low Elos are often bad at is farming and staying alive. If you try to focus on dying less and getting every little cs that you can get (safely), I've found that will take you quite far.

Shouldn't be too hard. I play primarily mid and jungle, and I've got plenty of picks for both, and some back up picks I'm good with for ADC (Draaaaven) or support (Lulu).

Top lane gives me fits though. Got forced into playing it so I opted for Vlad. Went 1 and 3 in lane lost tower, only kept up in CS. Against Garen! It's not supposed to be that hard and I know I played it really bad. I used to pick Morde or Swain, Morde isn't any good in that role outside of bronze and Swain's actually a good champ but my CS as him is always god awful so until I got better at that I'm not picking him until I improve that. Any top lane recs? I only really need a couple considering I play it probably once every 50 matches. I'm just looking for some relatively safe picks since top lane matchups are beyond me.

Garen is a safe pick actually, I think these days he counters a lot of popular top laners. Since you'll be counterpicking 90% of the time, you want to think of good top laners that have obvious weaknesses but no one will exploit. No one will ever first pick Teemo or Jayce and so Garen's problems are solved.

Jax, you always win for free with no effort.

Gangplank, nobody knows anything about his matchups so you get to laugh at some darius trying to level 1 cheese you.

Top lane Taric, silly shit but everybody is gonna flame you. Try him against a Jayce or something, watch his harass do absolutely nothing and if it does, heal it up.

Disclaimer: I'm a Silver V scrub and top is my least favored lane.

I just don't see what GP or Taric would do against the tanky beasts that currently reigns top. Harassing 0/30/0 Mundo/Shyvana who starts with Doran's Shield with Parrrley just seems like a good way to go OOM. Top lane currently feels pretty stupid, don't bother going there unless tanky and/or manaless. Or if you're Olaf.

You know what? I think I'll try to make top Nasus more of a pick since I actually understand how that one works.

And why, why do I keep forgetting to take Xin jungle considering I'm in bronze league?

Honestly I'm low enough that people don't think about bans. Picked up Nasus and Amumu my last two games. Blitz seems to be the only perma ban.
