on the Erikson thing I do remember George Ziets stating in 2013 that the writing was very Mazalan Book of the Fallen.
PoE writing is like Malazan about as much as PoE is like BG2. Propably even less. Even if they were going for something like this on paper (and i don't think they did, it seems to me they were going for New Vegas in FR Dalelands), they failed.
Erikson like writing would be something like Bloodborne.

I think they did in the descriptive text, which I think someone was clearly a lot less experienced at writing than dialogue. (Which is a bit weird considering one of the writers published a book, and while it's a from a small press, her work isn't that bad from the sample I read. Just an Eric thing, I guess.)
