Game News Solasta: Crown of the Magister now on Kickstarter, pre-alpha demo available on Steam

Impressive. The demo really emphasised the verticality of combat. Typically spiders in RPGs are confined to floor level, but here their unnerving freedom of movement turns a place of safety that would normally prevent flanking (the walls) into another hazard. The topography of the area is also rife with pitfalls and climbs. Nearly every fight felt different from the one before, either in the types of enemies, terrain, or interactable objects. The lengths players will go to Sparta-kick someone off a ledge...

Fluctuating exchange rates notwithstanding, there is now less than US$ 100,000 needed to reach funding.

One interesting tidbit in advance is that the Jan 2021 ship date is fairly confident given how much of the game is already covered under existing budget and the team involved.
