* FEV causes sterility in some creatures. FEV does cause sterility in super mutants and ghouls - Marcus' comment in New Reno was a joke only (and it was an inappropriate one, for which I apologize for).

From FO Bible.

Ah. I see.

In that case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the article.

The retarded Bethstapo moderators have went through and edited the links out there, ruining the thread on it. They also stealth edited out someone using tinyURL, leaving no indication that they changed it. Secret censorship. Very lame.

The article reminded me of another statement in the article that caught my eye:

Fallout 3 has a more defined narrative structure than many previous Bethesda games.
I'll hazard the guess that it'll also be more defined than many previous Fallout games.

I was also reminded of the fact that the article really only compares the game to Oblivion. There are only vague and generalized references to Fallout, and not too many.

This proves a fact anyone with a working penis already knows:

Bethesda is run by emasculated men who gobble viagra like it was candy and whose fragile ego is so easy hurt that they edit posts with much the same fervor as their ugly "I only married them for the money" wives show when they reach for the off switch on all the lights when they are tricked into having sex with their nerdy husbands.

I love how insecure the Beth guys are. They need to up their epeen size by editing urls? Hahahaha...Try to edit this, bethesda:

I used to write for a web site quite a long time ago. The woman who ran the RPG section (whom I eventually replaced) went to E3 to see Morrowind the year before it came out. She met with Howard behind the scenes, and told me he smelled like cat piss and his breath was horrible.

And he couldn't stop staring at her tits.

Said he reminded her of a creepy, 30 year old pedophile.

LOL! Maybe not so surprising.

It does explain the idiocy behind the game design. Maybe he'll be heading the BOS way with lots of hookers and thongs - motion captured by him in private of course.

I do, as I don't think the game would be demonstrated in that much detail this early, as to show (the nonexisting) multiple everything.
What's the "non-existing" conclusion based on?

So even if the quests would be choking full of multiple paths and ends, we would most likely see one presentation like the one we have...
Sure. I'm not saying that there are no options. Reread what I wrote:

"Anyway, did you notice that the article does not mention any option to do something differently? One would think that Todd would have illustrated or at least mentioned all the options while playing through this quest. Something like "of course, you can blow a hole in Mister Burke's head instead" or "you can talk to the sheriff", etc. So, either these options are not present and the game railroads you or Todd doesn't think that these options are interesting / have consequences / worth mentioning. Either scenario is alarming."

I agree that it's obvious the Stormtroopers of Brotherhood of Selfless Steel encounter was scripted ... I can clearly see the likeliness of it being an unconditional scripted event, but the early timing and vagueness of article itself isn't allowing for "experienced interpretation" in my opinion.
Look at the scene: it's not something minor like running into some mutants and patrolling "knights". It's a carefully designed scene, which suggests inevitability, since the design efforts shouldn't go to waste, so everyone must go through that scene and experience the hopelessness followed by the joy of rescue and other crap.

There is no dialogue shown, only a response to maybe something weird the player said to his father like "will there be hairy deathclaws?".

Oh NOES? I'm Todd? (except I'm not pedophile).

P.S. VD's article was good... until he mad eup lies.. last I checked, you have the option in FO3 for 1st person or 3rd person. Don't bullshit. Only reason for someone like VD to bullshit is because he feels he can't make a point without making stuff up.

Not that it matters. 90% of the Codex is gonna buy the game, anyways.

Yea, I'm gonna 'get' it myself.
I'm gonna buy only if it will be at least half as good as original Fallouts... something tells me that I should not bother saving cash.

"Have you heard any rumors?"
"Thats not the way it works. And it won`t do to go around asking questions like that. Especially not around the overseer."

Yes, I know that it was hardly a good example of 'dialogue', my point was merely that VD's editorial stated distinctly that no dialogue screens were shown at all, which is 'technically' untrue and is the kind of trivial thing that people might pick up on to call you a bullshitter, something that a codexer understands all too well.

Fallout 3 has a more defined narrative structure than many previous Bethesda games.
So I suppose all the descriptive texts on rusty screens shown in the GI are Bethesda's narrative pop-ups.

I think you miss the Bethesda motto: " A <s>picture</s> detailed rendered 3D scene is worth a thousand words".

With the modified oblivion engine, there is no needs for text.

As far as I remember from the ending of Fallout 1, male super-mutants are fertile. It's only the females that are sterile.
Could anyone confirm this?

hi guys just wanted to add my two cents. I agree with VD's piece and think its just going to be dumbed down shooter/rpg with scripted events. i told my brother about the v.a.t.s. system (he's a 360 owner) and he thought it was a stupid idea boiling it down to free head shots during a fire fight. Also those supermutants seem completely retarded (im gonna beam ya with this daedric mace argh!!!) but seriously supermutants were end game baddies with really high health and crazy weapons, these guys seem like pussies. Look i dont plan on buying or playing this game, at this point i feel its my job to call people on their bullshit dumbed downed gameplay (im talking about people who think this crop of rpgs are the best and deepest they've ever been) companies are gonna shovel this crap out no matter what anyone says, look at square/enix and their 20 final fantasies in production ( shit try making 1 good one ). Its up to us to remind people those magazine sites know absolutely shit about quality games and always buy the hype because guess what, they cant function without the each other. I wonder how many copies of IG are gonna be sold because this whole bullshit hype, by the way if you want to know what i think of IG go look for their review of gothic 3 ( it really shows their talent for an unbiased review lol ). All im saying is ignore the hype and focus on the games that actually do the things right what a good rpg should do.
