Honestly looks decent. Definitely needed more crazy classes and I also agree that the class-restricted gear seems dull. I assume at some point you gain a party?

I remember watching the first South Park on a dial-up download when it was first created. It was funny at the time, but the TV show.. well... that sort of humor gets old rather quickly. This being an RPG is interesting, but it will take a lot of detailed character development and difficult fights based on that development to get me to even consider it. Gay jokes and animations of dancing shit just doesn't do it for me.

Looks very good... but I have a feeling that the fun factor depends on whether Cartman follows you around or not.

so prostitution's been a career goal then, good to know.
somebody's gotta pay the server bills for gd..

the codex has enough funding campaigns for that shit. seriously, i can look past the tranny porn, the racist jokes and whatever else this shithole has only because i thought at least we were :obviously: enough to rise above begging gaming companies to let us borrow their dick so we could suck it for them. but apparently, this place is a bigger shithole than i thought.

we have never begged for a key. we have mailed and asked, but that's the extent of it. you're being incredibly fucking stupid.

other journos don't beg either. they get keys and "write" good "reviews" and get rewarded with more keys. it's called conflict of interest.

you can go ahead and do shit like that just like every other gaming website out there.

i'll await the day your ads match the game you're reviewing.

As for my being "fucking stupid," plenty of research has already been done on this phenomenon.

Ok, that video made me want to play it. Lot's of hand-holding, but Cartman makes it funny, and if there's a good challenge in higher difficulties, the can can be great.

Hey man don't complain about the gameplay. Obsidian is giving you turn based combat with an in game explanation- that's more than almost any other RPG will do these days :D

that should be called... argumentum ad declinum fallacy, shouldnt it?

- would you mind if i get a skippable tutorial, sir? would it hurt your decline sensibilities if that most outrages of game options would be given?

Cartman about turn-based combat said:
I know it's lame Clyde, but that's how we're fucking doing it.
yeah it was ok.

its just its all a tutorial.... wish there was some real gameplay to see.

although it looks good, overall.

Assuming Codex's interest is to get more keys.
From the thread, it looks like they are just asking key just for lolz.

Though it would be interesting if the reviewer(s) actually tear the game apart and spit on dev's faces. :troll:

you're naive.

i'm not asking to be over-the-top, just for objectivity.

I doubt the free review copies do much to affect reviewers' opinions. Their publications would pay for their copies if they didn't just come free from publishers. Sometimes there are even press preview versions on Steam that stop working eventually. That being said, the opinion of someone who did pay full price for a game has a certain extra amount of credibility that a pro reviewer has to work pretty hard to achieve.

That other thing you mention, advertising, is obviously the real corruption. Traditionally business and editorial people are kept segregated, but that often isn't the case in games, or other niche journalism.

You people are absolutely pathetic. Why don't you start reporting on mobile "RPGs" too.

Those 13 minutes... well. As someone who was never interested in South Park, the writing / pace / etc actually seems decent enough for a tutorial, and could be interesting enough. The combat is super simple, and it will either be surprisingly good because it has many creative items and abilities, or it'll just be meh passable bland TB like, I don't know, Shadowrun but seemingly without grid movement.

Given that this is a $60 release...

I haven't been paying attention to this game at all but oh man I'm excited now. Love South Park, I'll probably get this game just for the characters' lines/feel of the game.
