Things were rock solid had ten years of use in mine showed no signs of wear then my old cat knocked a cup of water over onto it.

After watching this Starfield Direct video again.

I think the rainbow icon stuff might actually belong to an in-universe organization.

Important observation: the scenes in the video are all too calm... too shallow.

We've seen no evidence the game has an immersive and deep storyline yet.

50/50 the game is actually good.

Tell me which game world is geographically larger. Tell me which one has an actual physics system outside of a select few pre-defined object types which are only bound to a single physics model. Tell me which one has exponentially more character models. Tell me which one has more C&C. I could fill a page with the reasons your comparison is retarded, but I'm sure in your infinite wisdom as a connoisseur of gaming that you get the picture.
Holy-Fanboy-Batman. Am I just having strong deja-vu or have I heard all of these lame excuses before?

The problem with Bethesda's games is not the physics engine or the size and scope of the world. The problem is they write characters and factions that are nothing but caricatures in a world that makes no fucking sense.

People keep citing Fallout 76 as being Bethesda's only fuck up but they are completely forgetting about Fallout 4, a game where they could have taken the lessons from New Vegas that was a believable world with conflicts of human nature where more often than not, nothing is black and white. But instead with Fallout 4 they gave us a story about Terminators, Time Travel, and Teleportation. Where people set up their settlements in the middle of buttfuck nowhere with super mutants nearby that they need your help with indefinitely. I didn't make this shit up. Bethesda did.

Mods couldn't fix that shit in Fallout 4 and they won't fix it in Starfield either.

Oh, we're doing the thing where we pretend that New Vegas wasn't Howard Hughes vs the US government as conceived by gen x'ers vs the crucifixion rape gang.

I don't care how you want to frame New Vegas to try to discredit it.

I'm not trying to discredit New Vegas specifically, just saying that all modern Fallouts are pretty dumb.
We're a long way from the seriousness of Keeng Ra'at and the Hubologists.

I think New Vegas' crime is being too grounded in reality and not "dumb" enough, there's hardly any of the sense of surrealism or heightened reality that exist in Fo1, 2 and 3 (especially 2 and 3, obviously). The other games offer a feeling of walking through a world where people believe strange things and you keep getting culture shock from profoundly weird shit, whereas New Vegas feels like walking through a crap tourist trap where everyone's bored out of their skulls.

But Fo2 is basically a theme park world of "what mischief will the Chosen One get up to this time in Cowboy Town/Casino Town/Big Trouble In Little China Town".

Bethesda should have never touched Fallout. All those games are garbage. All Bethesda writing is a dumpster fire with the world's most retarded, one-dimensional macguffins in writing history. I can't find the link to back it up, but I remember hearing that someone else is taking over lead writing for Starfield, hopefully they're incline from Emil. Emil has the writing chops of a stray cat looking for food behind a chinese restraunt, so just about anything will be better than his literal shit. The only thing that makes Bethesda games good is the atmosphere and sandboxes they give you which modders push to 11. Will Starfield be a buggy mess on release? All previous examples point to the answer being yes, hopefully Microsoft is handling Q&A this time and isn't letting the game be pushed out like the usual Bethesda shit. I feel that's wishful thinking though. The point is Starfield will be THE open universe, sandbox, space game in the next 3-5 years once they release modding tools and the community has time to spool up.

I'm not even sure I agree that Bethesda's writing is egregiously bad. They feel like typical video game stories to me, but for some reason everyone else seems insistent that they're notably awful blemishes in an industry full of Tolstoys and Hemingways. Meanwhile so many of their other qualities like art direction and system breadth are tops in the genre. They also practice genuine game design instead of cribbing everything from D&D or implementing mechanics just to have them.

You're right. Bethesda are genuinely pushing game design forwards by removing skills and giving us perks that add 10% damage.

In Fallout 4 they gutted what already worked and in it's place gave us the video game equivalent of a pop-up book. Next up; coloring books and mega blocks.

Todd said 4 "fully developed" https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/z872w8/according_to_todd_howard_starfield_will_have_4/
that's less than F4, and there's a new list, a list led by some meme guy and the rest of the article is moronic parroting about romancing & stuff, instead of actual depth of gameplay (doesn't bode well ):

Further evidence that I'm right.

Bethesda went full autismo on systems and aesthetics but forgot to populate 1,000 planets worth of content (because of course they couldn't, nobody can, and it was a bad idea from the start).

You just don't know what genuine game design looks like. The robot companion can say your name!!!

Nearly all of Fallout 3's skills have direct descendants in Fallout 4's perks. The only exceptions are speech, which was rolled into the Charisma stat (which actually makes sense) and repair, the loss of which even I'd grant is gay and decline.
