So i got me a new 1TB drive on the nigger friday thingy and managed to put it in. My friend warned me about how shitty the screws are, and how easy it is to strip them but i managed to pull them out successfully.

I guess we'll see now how much i'm actually gonna use this thing since i can now set everything up without having to worry about having to redo it. I think the only future hardware mod i'll do is replace the joysticks with hall effect ones since 100% i'm gonna get stick drift at some point.

Well, i'm not an expert on handhelds but for me the Deck is a major step up compared to what i was looking at back when i was considering getting one (I.E. Sony PSP etc).

That said, it's still an handheld which makes it limited by its very nature.

Don't bother responding, SDG is a tech illiterate drunkard who can barely use a console.

I barely use my Deck at all, any real PC game feels like a compromise to play. Great if you travel or away from a PC a lot but if you aren't it's kind of useless (at least to me).
Pretty much the same. Its kind of shit. First i was very excited to use it and test different games on it, but soon after the novelty wore out and i dont like to use it at all. My next mobile pc will be some laptop again.

I use my S8 galaxy tab to game more than steamdeck.

Nevermind the biggest reasons I view it as a useless POS (having to put work in to get anything worth a fuck to run and it being too underpowered to run anything newish), it's simply too big and uncomfortable to hold. I'm not a handheld fan but I don't mind holding my Switch for a few hours and chilling. Holding the Steam turd is an endurance test.

The only smart thing they did was put the charging port on the top. The Switch has it ass backwards so you can't rest the system on your chest/stomach while it's charging.

Chronic alcohol-related myopathy (CAM) is the most frequent form of alcohol-related myopathy with an overall prevalence of 2,000 per 100,000 people with alcohol misuse. Clinical signs associated with CAM are progressive proximal muscle weakness, type II fiber (fast twitch glycolytic fibers) atrophy, pain, and myotonia.

I'm a limp wristed faggot with below average sized hands and I think the Deck is the perfect size from a purely ergonomical perspective. All other handhelds I've tried cramp up my hands in no time, and if you think the Deck is too heavy there is something seriously wrong with you.

My biggest issue is that the screen feels smallish and that the touch is hard to reach. Performance is not much of a problem since i rarely play modern games even on my desktop.

The rest just seems to be problems inherent with handheld devices in general (like the nature of the controls. I don't see what else they could do on that front).

As for using a laptop for portable gaming, no question a laptop would be better, but then it wouldn't exactly be handheld, would it?

Right now, for me it's a matter that if i can use my desktop, i don't see the point in using the Deck, but, as i explained, it does sometimes happen that i no longer have access to my desktop for some periods of time, in which case the Deck would be useful.

If you never leave the house you probably shouldn't bother with an handheld. If the idea is to use something on a couch, even a console might be better.

every computer should be built in a steam deck form factor, unless you're editing videos or running spaghetti code like Magic the Gathering Online, the Deck is sufficient for 99% of use cases. what is even the point of laptops if a device the size of the Deck can run Red Dead 2 at good enough settings
