I'm of the "shit until proven otherwise" school of thought, but Larian are cool guys and it's tempting to hope that they'll actually manage to come come up with something of its own kind. Still looking forward to DC, if it's good I might even buy it in the first month instead of waiting two years as I do for most games.
I'm planning week 1-2 purchase personally despite being of the same school of thought and my standards for non-shit being fairly high.

I think that something made by Larian, is going to be at least a rough gem as far as entertainment and humour, if not deep characters, technical excellence and worldbuilding go, so several days up to a week should give me an ample warning if something goes wrong. Not planning to pirate before, mostly because I CBA and am confident enough that I can spot possible problems using second hand opinions.

Admittedly, this is a game where you get to be a dragon, so it might lower my standards somewhat.

Hopefully Larian eventually gets some expert worldbuilders and people with good novel ideas about mechanics and meshing together procedural and handcrafted and makes this big huge RPG they keep dreaming about. I'll dole out my monies for DC hoping for that.
