Very cool, however, I wish someone would bestow the same attention on Ultima Underworld. It's been ignored for far too long.
I played Gog's version of UU to completion not very long ago. I was perfectly fine with how the game worked and the game itself was a wonderful experience. What do you think should be done with it?

Don't remember any exsessive respawn at all in SS2.
Afair, usually it was like 0-2 mobs max when walking through a cleared area, and it's not like you had to backtrack that much even when looking for chem elements.
No respawn would be boring and spoil the horror part of its atmosphere.
The only annoying thing about the respawning was the cyborg commando ultra deathkill machines or whatever they were called. Hated those damn things and then having them reappear when you turn your back really sucked.
