I'm purposely avoiding any discussions about the game because of spoilers, AoD hides secrets I can't even begin to imagine. This whole thing about the good old days of the Empire smells fishy to me.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Daggers are awesome for in-dialogue assassinations. They're ok in combat if you're good with them, but there are better weapons around.

So, what's the consensus so far? Better than Pillers of Eternity?
A million fucking times better. The combat is really tedious and awful, but unlike PoE it can be completely avoided and the game works really well as a visual novel.

Man I *actually* survived a battle. I wanted to help Feng out, and I like the guy, and I was able to get rid of a guy for him. I was biting all my nails through that battle haha

Ok, I have another rather minor problem/question (probably due to my lack of competence again :troll:) :
When I entered Maadoran and got to the hq of the Boatmasters, the door was locked. After talking to the guy beside it it wasn't locked anymore, but I decided to do other things first.
Now I reutrned, the door is locked again, and the guy is gone.
Hmm, is he there only occasionaly, is it a bug, or did I fuck it up?
Irenaeus II , any insight?

The best weapon by far is the axe, especially the two handed. The second is the hammer, IMO.

I always saved up skillpoints until I needed them to proceed.

That's actually a good tip.
Actually, if we play like that (and I do), shouldn't the design shift to accomodate that? Vault Dweller

Let the player know what skill rank he needs for a check, and if he wants to spend X from his skill point pool to pass the check. It would be much less annoying than reloading to do it, and would actually place the strategic decision during the game instead of before / in-between saves. Instead of the player feeling he has to compensate for the game's limitations by saving skill points and reloading (or just getting frustrated), make it a game feature, make it part of the design / UI!

Because skill ranks are only relevant when you use them to pass checks, not before when you allocate your skill points. I know you want to separate character definition / creation from play, as a C&C thing, but why not have the player define his character as he plays? Make the moment when you spend the skill points and define the character be the moment when they're relevant. The player still closes off paths to open some: that's the choice.

This in honor to ITS and Vault Dweller for making the longuest awaited vapourware RPG! Can someone give the GOTY already for VD? To whom I give the Doritos and Dew? We are waiting fucking years for this.

TOEE had extremely shitty combat...

lol fuck off

As for AoD... I don't get this game. The teleporting shit still gets on my tits and I don't know if I missed something, but after I repaired some smelting machine or such I was suddenly teleported to another city and apparently some guy died and shit happened in the starting city. Was I supposed to know this or anything would happen or what the fuck?

Can't you assassinate dudes in conversations with a sword as well? I am avoiding daggers like the plague as my weapon skill as I am tired of tickling dudes in the fights I can't avoid.

You need to have a dagger in your inventory, no need of any special skill apart from critical strike.
