...AoD hides secrets I can't even begin to imagine. This whole thing about the good old days of the Empire smells fishy to me.

It's the reapers.

Completed the game as a talky merchant.

I started off pretty much allied with the Commercium but ended things as a religious zealot. Not sure how I got there - I think it was all down to how I did things in Ganezzar. I ended up waking up the alien creature or whatever it was in Al Akir and then I picked Meru to run things. Turned out he just handed power over to me anyway.

I'll be replaying this a few times to try to get access to the other content. I discovered most if not all the locations, but I couldn't do much. I found the airship and gave it to Meru, nothing seemed to come of it. Could never find out anything more about the Arch. Couldn't reactivate the bridges over the Dead River despite turning all but one of the machines back on. Couldn't turn off the forcefield at the Tower of Zamedi. Couldn't get through the fog in the Abyss in Maadoran. One of the Imp Guard camps seemed completely devoid of content except for one merchant who sold me a special glove. And I had quite a few quests unsolved - I never did find out what happened to Esbenus' men. I could never find Elias, the guy the zealots in Ganezzar were after. The Map quest never resolved despite the fact that I found Hellgate.

I'm not complaining, merely pointing out the amount of content I obviously didn't see. I'm guessing it opens up if you pick different backgrounds and ally with different guilds.

One thing though, I do love the skill checks in this game. I'm that kind of fag, I'm not that into the combat to be honest, I'm just shit at it. I know I could be better if I put points into the physical stats but I've always liked talking more. INT and CHA are my two favourite stats.

Favourite things about the game - the writing, the visual design / setting, atmosphere, music, the interface, stability and polish and the good game design in general.

the best thing i can say about this game is that everyones story about their playthroughs read nothing like mine to the point where they dont seem like the same game. 2 dialogue heavy playthroughs and i still didnt even find out about many areas and major questlines.
ready for a fighter and assasin playthrough.

So what if it's a CYOA book. It's a fucking badass one. Could well be the invention of a new genre in fact.

Did you go to Ganezzar?
Nope, because the game says I better talk to the Maadoran-boss before leaving.
So I
already made peace between Maadoran and Teron
, but since this message still pops up if I want to leave the city I figured it'd be best to do as much as I can there before leaving.

lol fuck off

As for AoD... I don't get this game. The teleporting shit still gets on my tits and I don't know if I missed something, but after I repaired some smelting machine or such I was suddenly teleported to another city and apparently some guy died and shit happened in the starting city. Was I supposed to know this or anything would happen or what the fuck?

It's just Vinney's trial by error design model.

Can't you assassinate dudes in conversations with a sword as well? I am avoiding daggers like the plague as my weapon skill as I am tired of tickling dudes in the fights I can't avoid.
You don't need to be good with the dagger for dialogue criticals. You just need to own one, and have a high enough CS.

There's an awesome skill called reading that can help you with that.

I could never find Elias, the guy the zealots in Ganezzar were after.

Stairs next to the entrance of the city.

Ok IMPORTANT QUESTION (story spoiler ahead!) :
I guess there is no way to convince Antidas to join forces with Meru during the siege?

if you aren't craft your own weapon, is there any one-handed sword better than Dreamweaver? (2,000G sword from commercial bazaar in Maadoran).
Keep using this shit because of huge +THC

Since when is Qt3 a review site? I didn't even know people still posted there.

Also, you give Star Wars Pinball 5/5, but AoD 4/5?
:killit:

edit:
The teleporting shit still gets on my tits
It's no where near as bad as it was before. A few years ago 90% of dialog ended in a teleport. But now it's not so frequent and if you read everything and don't just click through, teleporting isn't so jarring when it does happen.

Serious props on the grifter path. First time I've seen that really done in a game, where you can go full Eddie Murphy in Beverley Hills Cop, instead of just of 'talky' builds being a choice between a wandering preacher talking morality into people or Randall Flagg from a Stephen King novel.

I joked in the other thread about making a 'punchable face' perk, but it would be genuinely great to see a game go even further down this path, and have in game recognition of you being a cowardly smart-ass.

Thing is, the 'smartass grifter hero' is a common enough archetype in film, but the reliance on trash combat means it is almost never done in games.

Hate to admit it, but it would tie in well with the Bioware romance crap by giving you a satisfying alternative to playing psychologist to all their daddy issues. Let the player go 2/3 down that path before letting them swindle the 'romance interest'. Do it to enough party members and their dynamic changes from hero worshiping the player to constantly face-palming about what a dick he is (ala Archer). Better still, make it so that one of the 'romance interests' is actually grifting the player (c/f 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'), which a non grifter won't discover outside of a couple of ' hmmm... that doesn't seem right' moments.

About "quest armor" function
Power Armor has 3 mode , +3 Str mode, +3 dex mod and regen mod (can't unlock 4th mode yet)
I find out that when I switch from Dex mode to Str mode in combat, I still get extra AP from Dex bonus for that turn.
Is this work like intent or just a bug?
